Yes and I should have added more detail to my thought. I have watched Mayo and the reason I say he is bad is because you know the Suns are going to use him the same way Memphis did. He is a combo guard who they will put on PG's as well. He is no doubt better at covering SG. He will be placed on PG on this team and he falls off the map with an 18.4 PER covering them.

Maybe I am jumping to conclusions but until the Suns actually allow guys to cover other players at their natural position....I will assume otherwise. Maybe that is not fair but the Suns have always pissed me off in this regard.

You're jumping to conclusions. Dragic is 6-4/190 and not a defensive liability. Not a star, but not a liability, either.

Why did Mayo's minutes drop so significantly from his first 2 seasons(38mpg) to only 26mpg his last 2 seasons?

Eddie Johnson talked about this yesterday on KTAR. He said that Mayo was just fine in the offense, but when they added more offensive players, Allen's top notch perimeter defense and his limited offense made the team more balanced.

EJ said that Mayo was the superior player but went to the bench without complaint. He was quite impressed with Mayo's demeanor in those circumstances. Anyway, that was Eddie Johnson's take, which is probably superior to anyone on this board (yes, including me).

So do I.

Hey, what's up with .net?

Wish I could tell you. It was having some database problems last week. Sose said he reconfigured MySQL and it ran fine for a few days then it died. I post there more than anywhere else so I'm dying for it to come back up. Until then it's here & RealGM.

Won't anyone think of Phrazbit!!

A fair question.

I actually like Mayo if the price is right, but seeing as we will need to outbid the reported 2 year 17 million dollar deal the Pacers offered, I think the price is going to be very wrong.

I'd like him on the deal Sleazley got.

Eh, if it's a two year contract, I am fine with the Suns overpaying for him. There won't be enough cash for a max player next year, but in two years, Frye, Chilli, and Mayo would be gone, freeing up some $15-$20M.

I'd still rather not sign anyone for anything beyond one year contract and then go after Harden next year.

Chili has 3 more years. Unless you think we're amnestying him one of these off-seasons.

Edit: Oh yeah, Frye too! Where they going? :p

Mayo is in town right now.

Without divulging your sources, where are you getting this good stuff? :D

It sounds like either Gordon or Mayo will be a Suns tommorrow.

It comes to me in the wind. Or Twitter. I can't remember which one.

I'm not sure what it means. Mayo could just be taking a free vacation on the Suns dime just in case it's advantageous to be here tomorrow.

Yeah, it's always possible Mayo could be waiting to use the Suns to drive up other offers. I don't really think that's whats going on but with the amount of cap space the Suns have and their need for a SG it's not surprise a lot of SG are still available.

It's kind of weird. The Suns driving up the price on Gordon by offering Max (he might have gotten that anyway). Sort of a take that NO. If the Suns drive up the price for Mayo sort of a screw all you who want him.

LOL. I don't think the Suns are doing any of this intentionally either. However, I wonder how the rest of the league views this as most of the league sees Sarver as an ass anyway.

I doubt anyone is reading too much into it, all parties are just doing what is in their own best interest.

All things being equal I think most of the remaining young SG would prefer Phoenix just because it will be the best place for them to showcase themselves and agents will look at it as the best chance to ensure the players next contract is lucrative.
