uh... wait a sec... for the twitter-challenged, does that mean Shannon Brown's getting a 4 year deal with an option or Mayo did?

Brown because team's can only resign their free agents to 5 year deals.

We aren't really using the Orange guy as a credible source of information, are we?

I like Lee, Brown, and Foye as other fallback options.

So did the Suns ever recover their CAP space that was supposedly tied up with Gordon passing a physical with New Orleans?

Also is Mr.ORNG ‏@PHXMRORNG for real?

I'd be curious what the Suns would offer Shannon Brown if Mayo is out of the picture.

What's not credible about a grown man that paints himself from head-to-toe in orange paint 41 nights a year?

It seems like we are saying the same thing. Shannon Brown is the backup option the Suns plan to sign.

Shannon Brown is a career backup. The fact that no other teams are interested in him should tell you something. I don't like this move at all.

The Suns will likely add another SG besides Brown. Besides I liked Brown's play towards the end of last season. Don't think Brown wouldn't be snatched up by another team if the Suns don't sign him.

Ok, so ESPN has an article that claims Dallas actually had about $4m in cap space left. Did Mayo seriously sign for $4m a year? I'm not high on the guy, but that's half of what we were told he was seeking yesterday. You;d have to think his agent would have called the Suns to see if they wanted to beat the deal. Really (if true), they couldn't beat $4m a year?

Phrazbit should be so happy. We didn't sign OJ Mayo.

Has he said anything about the party at his house this weekend?

I thought all Dallas had left was a $2.6 exception? Huh... wonder what they gave him?

Mavs amnestied Haywood so they have the cap space to give him his $8M/yr.

You must be crushed. But I am sure you can start scanning the leagues free agents for another bench player the Suns can drop 30 million on.

I wont make apologies for not wanting the Suns to sign bad contracts.

It will have to be part of a trade. There is no way OKC lets him walk for nothing. Their GM is as good as they come, he will flip him for value if OKC feels they cant get him under a manageable contract.
