Why trade for Kirilenko after he threatened with europe and got blasted by Williams.

I don't see your logic here. AK is the same player whatever he says or other say that reduces Jazz's leverage on trading him. This might be part of his intention anyway.

"Regardless of everything that went on with the extension, I'm tired of hearing my name in trade rumors," Marion said. "It's time for me to move on. I felt like they tried to force my hand to Boston with the (Kevin) Garnett stuff."

#1. Marion doesnt need apologists defending him. He's played his guts out his entire career for the Suns and is a four time allstar that deserves a bit of respect.

#2. Marion had a right to say he's not going to resign with a team if he gets traded to a team he doesnt want to go to. KG was saying the same thing at the time....he wasnt thrilled with Boston either and was talking with the media about it.

#3. Marions name has been mentioned in numerous trade rumors over the years....more than any other Suns player (remember Tmac and Sheed deals?). I could see where that would get old and wear on a player. Especially on a player that was drafted and wants to finish his career as a Sun.....we supposed to hate on him for that?
The team I've rooted for for decades is the Phoenix Suns, not the Phoenix Marions.

Loss of respect for Shawn Marion is his own doing. He's the highest paid player on the team, but becomes mediocre at playoff time. He whines.

And, worst of all, he blocked a trade which would have favored us for our first ever Championship . . . then announced that he wants to be traded shortly thereafter.

Shawn Marion is a cancer to the Phoenix Suns. And now he'll be traded for an inferior return. The only apology should come from him.

And that and $2.60 will get you a gallon of gasoline.

They made a good point on Gambo and Ash.
While I would take Odom over Kirilenko anyway, the Lakers plus Marion - Odom are no threat for us. The Jazz - Kirilenkos 8/4 and bitching + Marion at the 3, they could win the West.
Why help out the Jazz?

The Jazz will look good on paper, but I think they'll have a lot of trouble defending the interior. AK's role was to cover up how weak everyone else was defensively and I don't think Marion will be able to do it as well.

i wouldn't get too fired up in your hatred of shawn just yet.

if i had to bet, i'd still say odds are he's a Sun this year.

that's a huge extension to swallow and anyone paying him that will basically be crippling their team. to do that AND trade away an asset to make that happen is tough. if the lakers take marion, they're giving him a $65M extension. holy crap, talk about an albatross contract. mark cuban wouldn't even pay that much for a 29 yr old who's all athleticism.

I agree with all of this.

Bravo.

If the Suns deal Marion, they will take a step back in their championship quest and our window will be officially closed. No team will trade a superstar for Shawn and that is what the Suns will need to not skip a beat this season.

Shawn's making headlines nationally now, and I think he likes all this attention just before camp starts. There are two superstars ahead of shawn on this team, but he is the talk of the town right now.

Shawn's not going anywhere. The situation he has in Phoenix is too good (Nash, Amare, and a boatload of $$$) for him to be unhappy for long. All LA has to offer is a 41-41 season and a cameo in the playoffs.

Winning a championship will mend all wounds and if we don't Marion will be trade bait again. Nothing new. He should be flattered to be mentioned in the same sentence in a trade for KG.

Yes...by far.

Wrong...dude has the longest strides ever. It is deceptively quick how fast he gets to the hole. I call him a dementor because he floats instead of runs...and I'm a potthead.

Problem with this statement is that if you're stoned, everything looks like its happening fast. Even Big Jake Tsakalisis is "deceptively" fast. Well, maybe not big jake, but you get what I'm sayin.
