I don't know. But i'm happy with the tackles we have right now. We don't need two Pro Bowl tackles. Levi is our franchise tackle and all we need is an average starter for the left side, that's it.

Yeah who needs two Pro Bowl tackles? Certainly not the Cards. Football players never get hurt do they? You've annointed Levi Brown as our future franchise OT and he hasn't even played a down in the NFL yet. Do you moonlight as a soothsayer?

He is a Tool for not liking school?

Your happy with Gandy?

:bim:

You're happy with Gandy?

I don't really understand how anyone can be happy with a guy that's washed out of two franchises not only as a tackle, but as a guard as well.

I am certainly not ...

Having Ross or Gandy as our starter does nothing to build my confidence in the Oline ...

Yeah who needs two Pro Bowl tackles?
Dude, i would be happy with ONE pro bowl tackle. Let's not get too crazy now. How many teams out there have two pro bowl tackles on their roster?

Back to the suppl. draft:

GAITHER GOING IN ROUND FIVE?
A league source with knowledge of the evaluation of Maryland tackle Jared Gaither believes that Gaither will be selected in the fifth round.
The source says that, if Gaither were in the April draft pool, he possibly would be a first-day (i.e., round one, two, or three) selection.
The word on Gaither is that he's immature, and that he doesn't fully appreciate his physical gifts. He lost his academic eligibility because he hated school. And given that teams didn't have time to do their due diligence, teams will be less willing to take a chance on him.
Another source says that Georgia cornerback Paul Oliver likely will be drafted, but possibly as late as round seven. The source says that Oliver is believed to be too slow to be an effective corner and too small to be an effective safety. A couple of other eligible players are expected to be signed as free agent.

-------------------------

I would still pick him up in the 4th, at best, but that's about it. He is not worth a 3rd and certainly not a 2nd round pick.

I am not exactly sure how this factors in, but what can of contracts do Supp players get? Do they get slotted into the pick that was used for the current year? Do they get a discounted rate?

Joe, wanna help me out here?

They will get a contract that is in line with which round they were selected. But the agent and the team will fight over what slot in that round their player should get. For example if a 2nd round Supp pick was used, the team will try to give a 2nd round 32 pick contract, while the agent will try to get a 2nd round 1st pick contract. But both sides know there are limits becuase the newly picked supp pick will raise your rookie pool this year so a team is only allowed to spend a certian amount anyways. And the rookie pool will only rise by the round that player was picked, so a 2nd round supp pick cannot be paid like a 1st rounder becuase of that limitation. And we have pleny of cash to pay that.

NO PICKS THROUGH FIRST THREE ROUNDS
A league source tells us that, through three rounds of the supplemental draft, no players have been picked.
The process began at 1:00 p.m. EDT. Teams send in an e-mail each round indicating whether they intend to use a pick or pass. Priority was determined via a weighted lottery.
Stay tuned for more updates.

A league source tells us that the San Diego Chargers have selected cornerback Paul Oliver in round four of the supplemental draft.
The process is now in round five.
Stay tuned.
