I think he'll be a very good starting qb for somebody. I'm starting to think Jackson may be a bust..

Very rehearsed answers. Well Prepped. The play recall was impressive. I like his personality. Dont know anything about his ability. I always wonder why these air raid QBs tend to fail. Are they incapable of reading defenses and working through progressions? Are they simply operating under the scheme in which their coach has put them? How teachable are they? He's got the size you want, the leadership, accuracy. Stats, eh. Wouldnt read a ton into them. Id look more at do you believe you can teach him to play under center? Seems to have the brain for it...

This guy is a good QB. If we took him at 15 I would be happy with the pick. This is the best quarterback class that I have seen since 1983.

I have to admit his retention was impressive especially after Mariucci tried to throw him off by asking him about where Wilson was drafted and Warner was taken. Mariucci tried to swerve him and he still retained the play just minutes after seeing it one time. This kid may be worth moving up late in the first to grab if you think someone else is looking to take him.

If that kid had the arm to go with the body he might be the number 1 pick IMO. But he doesn't and therefore he is second round talent, again IMO. If he can read a defense like say Kurt Warner then he could be good, because I think he a good kid and will work hard. Do all the things that you need your QB to do to be great.

That's all it ever boils down to. And all any team can ever hope is that he can process the game at NFL speed. As long as he doesn't have a deficiency in his right arm, it's no reason to take him off your board if he "only" has an adequate arm.

Rudolph doesn't have a cannon but do we really need to look at all the guys who did and didn't pan out and all the one's who didn't but did? If the game isn't too big for him between the ears, his arm will be fine.

I wish we could see videos of all of the QBs coming out and see how well they handled what Mariucci throws at them. That would make for some interesting viewing.

According to Jurecki, the Cards have 6 QBs on their list and Rudolph isn't one of them.

Scout buddy isn't that high on him. Concerned with arm and says he's kind of a tool but other scouts on staff like him.

I've always liked him and just don't see the lack of arm strength but it must be an issue because that's always the first thing when talking about him.

Is it an actual lack of arm strength or just not as much arm strength as might be expected from a guy that size? That's the impression I get. People expect a cannon because he's 6'5", 230 but I don't see an actual lack of arm strength, just not as much as expected.

That's the problem, when people see a guy as big as Rudolph, they expect him to throw the football through a barn wall and when he doesn't do it, he doesn't have enough arm strength. I would rather have my QB have velocity over being able to toss it 70 yds. Velocity get it to the receiver faster and in tighter windows.

I agree, and I don’t think it is a problem to Rudolph. That said, when they measured the quarterback’s velocity at the Combine, Rudolph ranked among the worst. I don’t know how they measure it, though, and again, I don’t think it means much.

yeah... kinda like seeing a badass 4x4 and finding out it has a six cylinder....Rudolph's arm isnt "weak"...just not ideal, not overly impressive...I am not a fan... but I would jump on him at 47....a year or two behind bradford would help him.

Like Lauletta, Rudolph does have an NFL arm, just not a cannon... but then again, Lauletta and Rudolph have an understanding for the game which makes up for not being able to wildly rocket the ball seventy yards a la Josh Allen :)

Great point! After all, how many touchdowns are of the 70 yards in the air variety? Pretty sure that NFL defenses don’t allow the kind of time it takes to complete that throw anyhow. Much rather have a a strong decision maker with great accuracy.
