The Mavericks play at the Suns tonight with a new look... Rajon Rondo. It should be an interesting game if the Suns come to play. The Suns beat the Mavericks on the road December 5th. The Mavericks are coming off a loss at home to Atlanta and are on the second night of a back-to-back. The Mavericks record with Rondo is 1-1 thus far. See more from the Paul Coro article at azcentral dated 12-23-14.

All starters on Dallas played 30+ mins yesterday so a today is definitely possible for PHX.

In Rondo's first game with the Mavericks, I saw them using a lineup down the stretch that included him, Monta Ellis, and Devin Harris, all of whom could be considered PGs (or at least combo guards). We could easily see six PGs on the floor at once in tonight's game.

That's not true. Dirk played exactly 30 minutes and Parsons played just under 29 minutes. Secondly, the trail game of a back to back for most teams is irrelevant. The winning percentages stay roughly equal. For some reason that doesn't hold true for us but it does for the league as a whole every year that I've seen stats on it.

It made sense that we'd be an exception back when Nash was running the show but I have no clue why it's been so telling this season except for those games where we played the second night in altitude. It's understandable why the league tends to struggle on the second night in Utah and Denver.

I'm not too impressed with their bench. A bunch of has-beens and JJ Barea.

Villanueva has played very well for them and he's the kind of player that can give us fits. Jose and Devin have played pretty well too and they're a bit like Green or Thomas as they can each get hot and ruin the night for you. I like our bench better but they are 20 - 9 for a reason.

I hate to say it but I think the game could very well hinge on the refs. If it's a crew that lets Rondo get away with creating offensive foul/moving screen calls like the group did in Rondo's first Mavs game, we're in trouble. If that happens our guards will likely get into foul trouble and at least one of them will be a serious candidate for an early ejection (yes, I mean Bledsoe)

Small ball could be very interesting between these two teams.

Tucker has become a shooter and missing. He usually likes that corner pocket 3.

The Suns are dependent on their PGs to score on inside penetration. Even when they try to score inside they are challenged. This makes the Suns an up and down team when they can't hit the outside shot.

That ball was not going in, the ball Tucker took off the rim.

The Suns cannot score under the basket off easy attempts not to mention missed FTs.

The Suns are shooting 27.0%. They pass up good shots to take worse shots.
