When I think of a streak shooter, I always think of Eddie Johnson. My recollection of Eddie Johnson under coach Cotton Fitzsimmons, he learned to control his shooting while on the court or he was returned to the bench by Cotton. Eddie would keep shooting if he was on, and if not he was usually returned to the bench or shot the ball less if he was off. Even now Eddie refers to "heat checks" when he talks of hot shooters. Maybe stats may not show if a player is hot or cold based on averages but one only has to watch a basketball game to know which player that you don't want to have shoot the ball during a particular game or stretch of the game. I believe in streak shooters the same way as I believe in good shooters and bad shooters. Anyway, it is only my opinion.
