There is only one solution to this mess. Hire an OC who will call the plays. Find a QB either through draft, trade, or FA that can actually play in the NFL. Find a OT or two that can actually pass block.

He hasnt been accurate
His throws dont look very catchable
His arm strength is questionable
He locks onto his receivers at the snap.

I just dont see it.
Pretty much. Moxie and cinfudence can only take you so far when you don't have the measurables for the game. When does Jeff Garcia's UFL contract run out?

I honestly think that if he ever turns into a good QB it will take another 2-3 years. I, nor Whiz and especially Larry Fitz ain't waiting that long especially when you consider the limited upside.

A few things about Max.

A. He's not here because of his talent that's for sure, he's got a barely acceptable arm but it is acceptable.

B. He's very smart, that can fool people into thinking you can substitute that for experience, you can't.

So really days like yesterday would be expected, again I think the rain did a lot of damage too but he needs to be put into situations where he knows what to do on a much simpler basis for a few games, X or Y , not if X is here, then Q, but only if Y = 3/4 of Z....

That's what you do with almost ALL new QB's, if Whiz didn't do that then Whiz messed up.

I think a lot of it was the rain myself, I'll reserve judgement until I see how he does with a rookie QB gameplan in our own house, then we should see what we've got.

Yea Hall was pretty painful to watch, he was like one of the really bad gladiators being chased down by maximus in the movie and getting his head choped off :(. Man what a ugly game by Hall but I say I guess give him one more chance. Man I wish we had a young qb like Bradford he would tear it up with our wrs...

When a QB can make Colt McCoy's line look MVP like we are in trouble.

Colt McCoy : 9/16 74 yards 68.2 rating

Max Hall : 4/16 36 yards 1 INT 13.5 rating

The crazy thing and maybe shows Whiz gave to much credit to Hall...Both of these QB's beat the Champion Saints.

Yes, Hall had a bad day. But QB's, especially rookie QB's will. I am not making excuses for the guy, but here is the bottom line: we win that game if Hightower doesn't fumble, and Roberts doesn't muff that punt. That, in my opinion, would have been a 14 point swing, and would have kept field position in our favor.

Rookie QBs don't go 4/16 for 36 yards and an INT. Well, not rookie QBs who last long as starters in the NFL. In JaMarcus Russell's one rookie start, he went 23/31 for 224 with a TD and INT.

I guess Ryan Leaf had a rookie start where he was 1/15 for 4 yards and 2 INTs. So Max Hall is four times better than Ryan Leaf.

You chose two perennial winners to compare him to.

Well, it's hard to find examples of a rookie performance that was as bad as how Max Hall performed yesterday. It goes beyond, "Well, he's a rookie and he's making rookie mistakes."

Mark Sanchez went 10-29 with 5 INTs one week as a rookie last season. But he threw for 119 yards and the Jets only lost by 3. Was that "worse" than Max Hall's day yesterday? I don't know.

What I do know is that the week before Sanchez was 12-24 for 172 yards and a TD, and the week after he was 9-16 for 143 and a TD. You live with rookie lows when they provide rookie highs.

We haven't had (sorry, guys) any rookie highs from Max Hall besides a couple of passes that went more than 8 yards down the field. Let's not pretend that Max Hall is really, really bad even for a rookie quarterback.

I dunno... I think if Max was playing behind arguably the best o-line in the NFL, like Sanchez has been for the past 2 years, his #'s would look a bit better, or at minimum, more palatable to you.

His #'s yesterday were bad. Very bad. However, he did get bounced around pretty good. He was playing with a wet ball in the loudest stadium in the NFL. I think it's an extremely poor attempt to compare his performance yesterday to Sanchez. Apples & Oranges...

Now, should he be well enough to start this Sunday, I will grant you that he MUST show signs of improvement. He MUST lead the offense to some points. He must make some solid, professional, NFL throws. He was close against the Saints, particularly in the 2nd half of that game. I'm mildly confident he will produce against the Bucs, even though they are the "best team in the NFC and all...." ;)

Max Hall excuse #1,324

It's a shame we couldn't have picked up Colt McCoy. Not because Colt is or isn't better than Hall but because Colt ran basically the same passing offense* at Texas with the same type of accuracy (on a college level) that Warner was running in Arizona. He would have been a perfect fit to continue the pass first Cardinal tradition.

*Not because Texas wanted to but because UT couldn't run the football and had no other choice.

You must have missed the part where I mentioned how craptastic Hall's numbers were...
I didn't make any excuse for those numbers. Just pointed out the inadequacy of comparing Hall to Sanchez. ;)

Well, regardless you need to be chastised for saying the Jets offensive line is better than ours. Traitor.

Well...... we're better at allowing unblocked rushers free passes to our QB's!! And, we even have a tackle who ran one in for a Touchdown - bet the Jets can't make that claim!!! ;)

I heard from an unnamed source not close to the Cards that the team is working on a BIG TATTOO short yardage offense where Levi is the ball carrier and Dockett the lead blocker.

Yes, Max Hall sucks but it could be worse for you. You could have one of our four quarterbacks who have helped "lead" Carolina to a 1-11 record, which includes 2 poopy rookies (just like you have) and also a 30 year old scrub career backup with a total of 5 NFL passes before WE started him who when the Panthers signed him was sitting at home on the couch (stay-at-home dad) while his wife was working.

Welcome to the bottom of the NFL.

Personally, I think our fanbase would be ECSTATIC to have Max Hall or Derek Anderson after what we've had to endure this season with our purported "quarterback of the future" Matt Moore (now on the IR) who put up 10 INT's in about 1/4 of a season, Jimmy Clausen (1 TD and 6 picks in over 200 pass attempts), Tony Pike (now on the IR) and Brian St. Pierre (also injured).

Let's just hope our newly signed 5th quarterback on the roster this year (Keith Null) doesn't have to see any action.

Now lets see...Leaneert had (I dont know the number of games he played) games....but it had been said "give him a chance, he hasn't had many starts"....but Hall played in 3 or 4 games, and the professional tallent scouts on here have already deemed him as SUCKS. Just amazes me how one Quarterback has double digit games under his belt, but thats not enough to evaluate him....the other has a handful of games under his belt....and he sucks. Just my opinion.

When did Leinart ever have an extended audition for the starting job? People would have known what they had in him if he had been given more than one full season to start, which people like Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, Matt Ryan and guys like that were given.

Matt had three things working against him.

1. Whisenhunt wanted nothing to do with him from day one. Whisenhunt ran Leinart out of town the first chance he got (which wasn't until this season). Know why? Because he wanted/wants a Ben Roethlisberger clone, seeing that he was the Steelers OC for three years with Big Ben under center. Leinart isn't a Big Ben clone, so he is gone. Derek Anderson is more like Roethlisberger than Leinart, at least in demeanor and style of play. So he got the job. Trouble is, Whisenhunt didn't bother to examine whether DA could actually play.

2. Matt got hurt at an inopportune time. Which can happen to anybody in the league.

3. Matt Leinart got stuck in a quarterback competition with Kurt Warner. Whereas Matt Ryan only had to compete with Joey Harrington when he came up, Sam Bradford only had to compete with AJ Feeley and Joe Flacco didn't have to compete against anybody because both of the other guys on the depth chart happened to be hurt.

NEVER said either one had enought time to prove their worth....simply said that one had many more games than the other....its been said that he didnt have enough time to prove...the other sucks after just a few games.

Wow, I wish the Panthers front office was as ridiculous as you are. On the bright side, I think you may be lucky enough to have a shot at either Anderson or Hall after the season! Shockingly enough, both may be available! You may even have a shot at former Heisman winner Matt Leinart! In case you didn't know, he's a future hall of famer, just ask some of this board.

Would your fan base be happy with Matt Leinart as your Qb? Ours would have been if not for our coaches "chemistry' experiment.
