Rather watch someone who develop than the scud which I said along time ago would be the piece of garbage he is! QB situation was botched beyond belief by our HC!

While I am not really excited about turning over our season to an undrafted rookie I am excited about DA going to the bench. The decision to start DA was such a head scratcher, I am actually shocked that Whisenhunt in essence has admitted his failure in choosing a QB so early and benching him. Don't get me wrong, I am happy he did, but this coaching staff was absolutely convinced they could make DA into at least a respectable QB. Kudos to them for giving up on what really was a Quixotic fantasy.

If only we had better options beside an undrafted rookie and a 5th rounder out of a Division 20 school (I have no idea what level football Fordham plays, it obviously isn't even at Tenn State level like DRC played at).

All Hall has to do is heave a few up to fitz and the fans will be satisfied. Heck even if they are int's at least we are giving our best player on the field an oppurtunity.

Unless Hall succeeds and delivers a great effort then this is bitter sweet. Great that DA is not in but a terrible Coaching mistake to have to go to a UFA QB. This coach couldn't have messed this up any worse. Hope MAX has the touch and bails him out. Max fan but didn't want to see him in there as our only resort. This team is quickly becoming a joke. Prove me wrong Cardinals. Give max effort and don't get blown out at home Sunday.

If Max and Alex Smith are both still playing in the Monday nighter...ESPN could hype it as the Utah Bowl

At least Max Hall will get to practice with the 1st string this week. That's more than he had going for him last week.

This is a scenario where playing a small, UDFA qb over a six year vet can be construed not as throwing in the towel but as a last ditch effort to win the division.

DA's performance was not going to get us there. Hall still might but only if the D decides to stop someone this year. The D and DA together was a disaster. Hall may be as well, but he *should* be able to learn from his mistakes.

Anderson gave you an illusion of competing for the playoffs?

LMAO!

We're currently first in our division.
We have seven more home games left.
We've won one more road game than any other team in the division.

We are competing for the playoffs.

You sir are delusional. We beat the Rams and the Raiders on last minute plays. With Anderson we wouldnt have won more than 2 games and thats IF we got special teams or defensive touchdowns.

What exactly has Anderson done that Any other NFL QB couldnt be plugged in to do?

This. 1 home game thus far. Tough schedule out of the gate. There is still hope.

we beat the Rams in their house, the Seahawks lost to the Rams in their house. That's our competition right now. I don't like doing those kinds of comparisons, but We don't have to be better than the rest of the league, just the rest of our division.

Anderson stinks. I expect Max Hall to be terrible. But this team is still in the hunt for their third consecutive division championship. And I expect them to be in it for a while--maybe all the way to the end.

None of the teams in the NFC West can win on the road. That's clear right now. But we have a road win in the division. The Seattle Seahawks don't. The St. Louis Rams don't (and they have a home divisional loss). We have an edge that no other team in the division does right now.

Anderson didn't give me the impression that we're in the hunt for the division, being in the hunt for the division gave me that impression. I think we can win the division with either terrible quarterback, but I'm more confident that we can do it with Anderson because I think that teams have to respect that he can reach all levels of the field (1) with his arm and (2) from the pocket.

Adjust expectations. If we can take care of business against the division at home (4 wins), and then get home wins against Tampa (young team on the road) and Denver (can't run the ball), then you're at 8-8 and have an edge in tiebreakers in the division.

It wouldn't be fun, especially if we have 30 point losses on the road. We won't be in the position where we're controlling our own destiny in Week 17 (St. Louis visits Seattle on the same day). But the division remains in reach, even if we go 1-7 on the road.

Saints are 30th in run defense. I would expect Timmy and Beanie to get a lot of work this week. Helps take some of the burden off of Hall too.

I agree with K9, we're in it until we're not in it. 10 years ago I would have been all geeked up over 2-2. Well, now I'm older. And I'm geekier.

Bring on the Saints, damn the torpedos, and kiss my grits. Amen.

.

Just the fact that Hall can put air under the ball and let Fitz be fitz gives us a 100% better chance of winning games than having Anderson with his scud arm.

I unlike you dont think the defenses gave Anderson any respect at all. Heck he missed every open receiver down the field.
