What's with Peter King's love affair with Najeh Davenport?
Also, is this a guy that the Cardinals may/may not be overlooking?

I think, still -- and I truly don't mean to harp on Green Bay restricted free agent running back Najeh Davenport (I have written in this space that teams are crazy for not signing Davenport to an offer sheet which, if not matched by the Packers, would cost the signing team only a fourth-round pick as compensation), but a personnel man who I respect a lot pulled me aside last night and said: "I've been reading what you wrote about Najeh Davenport, and I agree. Hasn't anyone out there seen this guy play? You're telling me Arizona, with all their cap room, couldn't write an offer sheet the Packers wouldn't match. They'd have their running back of the future and it wouldn't even cost them a first-day draft choice?'' Davenport is probably out another two months after some clean-up shoulder surgery two weeks ago, but it's not anything that will prevent him from being ready for the season.

If I am not mistaken he's had a lot of injuries. Nothing season ending but has missed some games??? He's big and fast and has returned kicks too, but if he was our feature back he wouldn't see much of that.

He's Marcell Shipp without the experience.

Najeh is faster and bigger then Marcel. He ran a 4.45 40 in college.

He is only entering his 4th year in the league. It couldn't hurt to give the guy a look.

I like Najeh. It seemed whenever they gave him the ball it would be at LEAST a 5 yard gain. (My good friend is a packer fan...so the two teams I watch the most are...obviously the cards, and then the packers) (And what I saw of him occurred in more than one season)

Of course that was behind a good oline in Packerland (well at least used to be good...before the fa defections).

I can't say whether or not it would translate here, but Najeh Davenport is still a guy I wouldn't mind at least trying out here. Just like any other guy you bring in you never know how they'll do HERE, but I believe Najeh's upside is as good as just about anyone else and the price ain't bad.

Sure I want a rb, henry, james, alexander, or draft one...but a 4th for davenport and you can KEEP Shelton, and then use our pick on either (another running back...to solidify at least a managable running game) or a cb or what not would probably be one of the best scenarios I can think of at this time.

And I doubt you would have to spend top dollar to acquire him, so it's more of a medium risk with a contract like maybe 4 years 12-14 million (pure guess) than get a henry and sign him for 6-7 million a year for a 6 to 7 year contract. (Not saying he wouldn't work out).

He has had a few nagging injuries, but if I remember right it's more of a pittman style I'm going to hit that defensive player harder than he's going to hit me thing by hitting the hole hard...which is dangerous. Hopefully he could tone that down a bit...albeit when it happens it does get exciting.

The guy crapped in some girl's closet, which means:

A) He's really messed up in the head, or

B) He has a really good yet immature sense of humor, and he didn't think he'd get caught.

I wouldn't want my locker next to his...

Davenport makes defenders va-poo-rize!

Oh hey, my dad lives in Madison.

He despises being stuck around packer fans 24/7.
