Was just on Mike and Mike and said "how about the Cardinals are 2-0 for the first time since 1991, are you guys talkin about that?"

Good for McCain. One thing I will say about him - he is a HUGE Phoenix sports fan - passionate about the Suns, the Dbacks, and apparently the Cards as well.

I have moved the beginnings of the fight as well as the political commentary. My initial reaction is to send this to P&R, but I am going to hope that people will keep the politics out of this forum.

I applaud any mention of the Cardinals on that dumb show. I won't say anymore.

I met McCain at a Cards game at SDS once. He actually talked to me for about 5 mins. He was pretty cool to talk to. We just talked football, no politics.

My personal opinion is that regardless of what you may think of McCain, he is easily Arizona's most prominent celebrity right now. Helping to shine the national spotlight on our team is a good thing.

Big Mac is in Kurt Warner's home town (Cedar Rapids) today for an airport rally.
Unfortunately, when he leaves he's headed to Green Bay.

Oh, and how bout them Cardinals! Funny how Dan Patrick started calling them "my Cardinals" yesterday. If "we" win Sunday, the bandwagon will get start getting very, very crowded IMO.

McCain has been a long time fan of all the local teams

in the past, he hasnt been shy about taking Cardinal ownership to task for not doing more --

I think it is great of Mac for the way he does support the AZ teams. He's been to many Cards games that I know of.

Do you all remember when he showed up at the airport after we beat Dallas in the playoffs? He got booed pretty good, but it was still very cool. It was late at night and there were about 3 - 4000 fans there all fired up. The team spoke to the crowd and so did McCain.

Pretty awesome.

The only thing I'm gonna say is, of late, that I'm confessing to spending more time each morning checking out state polling data than I have been checking out Cardinal game stats.

Staying away from anything political...

Wasn't Sen. McCain actually an asset to the whole stadium process? Wasn't he a strong vocal supporter of building the thing?

I think we as Cardinals fans owe him thanks for getting that done.

You see McCain at D'backs and Suns playoff games so hopefully there will be a Cards home playoff game for him to go to this year.

I am not from nor do I live in Arizona, but from what I have seen, he seems like a huge sports fan and nice guy. Nice to see the Cards get some love on the national level from someone who knows about the team.
