I only say McClown is the next Jake because of Coach Mac's comments in response to getting a veteran backup QB "Not yet"
Instead, the Cardinals will continue to hand McClown the backup job with no competition to compete against.
We can all say that Parsons has a legitimate shot at the backup QB, but that isn't true. The coaching staff has flat said that Josh is the backup.
Ultimately this situation reminds me of the situation with Plummer. The coaching staff and ownership never brought in anyone to legitimately compete with Plummer. They just handed him the reigns.
Now they do the same with McClown, despite the fact he looks and a I quote "inconsistent" (coach speak for bad).
If Jake does well in Denver, it will be because of the pressure. Because he HAS to or he is out. He never really had that threat out here. The Cardinals made a mistake being the only team with 3 QBs in camp, and they compuund it by not bringing in someone to put the heat on Josh now.
