People seriously ******** on McCoy because he isn't DiFilippo and are completely overlooking what he HAS done at his career stops.

1. Squeezed career years out of Jake Delhomme and Kyle freaking Orton
2. When he was handed Tebow, he turned the poo popsicle into the best rushing offense in the league and beat the steelers in the playoffs.
3. Adjusted Broncos offense yet again when a noodle-armed manning replaced Tebow.

While it is true he hasn't developed a rookie QB into a stud, what he HAS done in his career as an offensive coordinator is take what he is given and make the offense put up points. A team in transition like the Cardinals needs that specific skillset, especially if we end up with a bridge QB for a couple years.

Remember, he may not be asked to develop a QB, as that will be the job of the QB coach. What he will be asked to do is take what we have on offense and who we acquire in the offseason and turn it into an offense that is good enough to win games and put up points alongside what will undoubtedly be a very good defense. So sure, he isn't the young flavor of the week everyone is fawning over, but for what the team needs right now to "retool" and win games, he is a good fit.

Dude makes the offenses so complicated that even Stephen Hawking doesn't understand them.

McCoy needn't be our QBOF whisperer if Leftwich or whoever our QB coach is given that job.

Some of the negative commentary about MCCoy gives rise to concern, and "if he was that good, why isn't he a successful HC by now?"

But there has been positive feedback, too - i.e. avg. points scored, above average running yards, good X and Os coach, was one of two guys Zimmer was considering for OC etc.

My biggest concern about him is his reported conservative approach to play calling. But that was then and now is now - and, if reports are true, he's ours now.

Welcome to the Valley (where biscuits grow on trees for the willing).

People complaining that he has not developed any young quarterbacks. Did the so called greatest coach of all time do that in his time with Cards? Also, what top rated OC is available or would sign with this franchise after looking at current state of offense?
Besides, wouldn't Leftwich be the one developing the QB?

Maybe you should find another team instead of siting here bitching all day long about what this one has done in the past and is doing now. Its absolutely obnoxious.

Or stop being an absolute cancer on the forums? I can't remember a single positive thing you have ever said.

Debate the topic and not the poster or you will be the one banned.

John Morton easily would’ve been a better hire.

Got career years out of McCown, Robby Anderson, Jermaine Kearse, & ASJ. That team overall lacks A LOT of talent & he was one of the main reasons that Jets team actually won 5 more games than a lot of people predicted.

McCoy has done nothing except be Peyton Manning’s lackey.

Great hire and my guy. Just means we will get Cousins or Smith. He's perfect for a QB who can read a D a la Mr Warner. This just made my day!

Actually it's a sign that QBOF ain't being drafted this year, unless they luck into one. It will be a 2nd or 3rd rounder, with a veteran starter coming in.

If McCoy is the guy, will Paxton Lynch come along as well?

I think the Cards considered Lynch but sat on their stones and watched Denver jump ahead of us in his draft. Believe Elway/Denver is now over the Lynch experiment.

I think one big reason the Cards have not invested in a young QB is because SK was waiting to bring in the QB that the new HC/OC would want and not someone who fit the BA QB stereotype. It's why we are sitting here now without a QB on the roster . . . waiting for the new HC/OC to tell SK the kind of QB he needs to run his O.+

Think of this possible hire not so much McCoy but instead McCoy + Lynch.

Well this is up there in the hall of fame of inane arguments.

John Morton has been an offensive Coordinator exactly 3 years. 2 of those years were at USC, where his offense was ranked 6th in the Pac-10 in 2009 and the team lost 4 games and the offense was ranked 4th in the Pac in 2010 and the team lost 5 games. This year - where you seem to think he overachieved - the Jets were 28th in total offense.

McCoy worked with Peyton Manning one season - one. Your argument is literally fake news.

If he is willing to simplify his scheme to fit the new QB(s) then okay.

Leftwich will develop the QB but he has to play in McCoy's system. In McCoy's defense Siemen / Lynch / Osweiler were hot garbage so not all of the DEN train wreck is his fault.

I think that Denver has a lot of meddling from the higher ups aka Elway at this point.

Again it takes a QB who can read and react. Palmer would have been perfect

Hmm he talked football. You attached him personally. Second time today I’ve seen you attack posters. Maybe YOU need to use the ignore feature for everyone you disagree with. Lame.
