Personally I would've loved to have gotten in on the original Houston/Sac deal. Or even just a straight deal with the Rockets.

Some people on other forum boards were saying originally when it was just a deal between Sac and Houston, that Sac was gonna waive McGrady and he wanted to go to the Lakers or Cleveland, fans were saying they'd rather see him in LA. I told em all that would be the worst thing for Suns fans. Look what he did tonight in his debut for the Knicks vs OKC.....

Crazy that everyone thinks he's washed up. Think had we made a trade of Amare for McGrady, we could've resigned McGrady for about $12-14 and Landry for $8-10mil. So that would've been 2 roster spots that will be at $32Mil, when we probably could've had the 2 spots at $20-24Mil.

What really burns is that New York was able to get him, plus clear enough cap space to add 2 MAX free agents. Yes, McGrady is gonna be a FA as well, but has stated that he's made enough money in his career, that if the Knicks were able to get Lebron/Wade and Bosh/Amare, he'd be willing to take the Mid Level ($5.9mil) or even the Bi-Annual ($1.9mil) to stay in New York to play with them. http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/knicks/mac_already_u8KQbwwZrbtMO8bCR1auvN

if there is fear in resigning Amare because of health issues...there is 10x more fear in signing TMac.

Bad Back AND Microfracture? no team is going to touch him over $10mil per long term.

i'm not saying he's washed up...but he's a total health liability

and i'll agree....depending on what NY can do this offseason, they will be a powerhouse. and there will be plenty of teams lining up to trade for Curry now that he's an expiring. Okafor, Diaw, Calderon are all decent pieces to trade for

I watched the 4th quarter+OT of the Knicks game and thought T-Mac looked out of shape. I went to nba.com and watched the 1st half highlights and still think he didn't look the same. Based on the eyeball test alone I wouldn't want to sign T-Mac.

If I were the Knicks...I'm not sold on them being able to get Lebron. If McGrady plays like he did tonight and stays healthy, I'm sure that he'd be able to help sweet talk Lebron into coming over along with Bosh or Amare as bigs. I still think it may be hard to get Lebron, and an easier guy to bring in would be Wade or even Joe Johnson for that matter and Bosh (over Amare) would be the better fit with any 3 guys with McGrady. Now if the Knicks can't get Bosh and want Amare, I'd prefer and like to see a S&T in return getting a package of Lee and Chandler in return. That way we use, in essence, Amare's salary to pick up 2 guys that are still young and very good players for our future.

All that said, If I were Walsh and D'Antoni (and McGrady stays healthy and plays as he did tonight) would go hard after Bosh and Wade and try to ship Curry and his expiring to Charlotte for Okefor, or even to Philly for Dalembert. They'd have a starting 5 of:

Wade
McGrady
Gallinari
Bosh
Okefor or Dalembert (both are defensive and rebounders with this team offense isn't needed from the center spot)

Absolutely crazy and scary in all aspects of the game (offensively, defensively and rebounding wise)

Exactly!!!! He isn't even in basketball shape and put up crazy stats and played all those minutes. Until tonight, he's only played in 6 games and averaged a whopping 7 1/2 minutes in those 6 games all season. Just wait till he gets in basketball shape.

McGrady and KG are sort of interesting tests for the whole high school kiddie parade that entered the NBA a decade ago. Their bodies are starting to break down earlier than they should be because they put so much mileage on them at the start. They were both the go-to guys for their teams right out of high school. If early 30s is the limit for those guys, you have to wonder where the line is going to be drawn for Amare, who does a good deal more banging inside. McGrady is 30. He should have all kinds of juice left in his legs but he looks more like he's 38.

I think people are starting to realize that getting in younger doesn't mean a longer NBC career. After 10 years in the NBA, the body really starts to wear down for most people ... 82 games plus playoffs plus national teams or whatever. That's a lot of wear and tear.

We'll believe it when we see it. Substantial in his terms may mean from 20+ mil to 10 mil.

I watched the whole game last night. He was very aggressive going to the hoop and his little turn around fade away on the baseline was hitting. However, he looks really out of shape, overweight, and they played him a few minutes at a time. He was really burn by the time OT came around.

Skill is not an issue with T-Mac. Everyone knows he can play. Health, however, is an issue. He hasn't been able to stay healthy in years.

I don't care if he plays for the league minimum. He can't even play an entire season. He cannot be relied on to remain healthy. I am also not convinced that LeBron or Wade are going anywhere. I will believe that LeBron and Wade will leave 30 million on the table when I see it.

Even if the Knicks have T-Mac + Wade or T-Mac plus LeBron......I am not worried because I know the injury prone T-Mac will emerge sooner or later.

Prediction: New York clears all this room, major free agents don't move, New York signs a bunch of second tier guys to use some cap space and they still suck. Last but not least, Mike D'Antoni is shown the door within the next 2 seasons.

I am so glad Antoni is not coaching the bulls. Bulls have much better young talent, plenty of cap room, and any star that want to come to Chicago can name his own coach. Bulls are in a much better position than the knicks.

I think both Wade and Lebron leave their cities. LeBron to NY and Wade to Chicago. Either Bosh or Amare will follow Lebron to NY. (my guess is Bosh)

Wade might have trouble leaving that much on the table. Not Lebron.

There are 5 big free agents this summer. Lebron and Wade obviously being the highest. Amare/Bosh/JJ aren't far behind.
