Alcoholism is NOT a disease, I don't care what anyone says.

It's a decision.

MF is weak....and extremely stupid.

The end.

Michael Floyd is not a victim. He is a dumb, reckless a hole.

I cant remember who it was on here who encountered Floyd and he was a giant a hole. Everything that has happened since confirms that notion.

How much tea would he have to drink to obtain that level of alcohol in his system? I'm not buying it. Doesn't non alcoholic beer have more alcohol than this tea?
Heard someone mention on radio to get to .08 it would take like 15 gallons or so of that tea. He blew like like a .05 so either he was chugging that like water or he had a little of something else.

All these bleedin heart people who care about the safety of a repeat drunk driver should be clamoring for him to be locked up if they actually care about his sobriety.

Nothing will help you get clean like prison. Hard to drink when theres not a drop available.

Prison is the best thing for Floyd. You should be happy for him if he gets a couple years.

Michael Floyd prosecutor isn’t buying the kombucha tea defense
“He’s in violation and should serve the rest of his jail time,” Caron Close told Brian Murphy of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Floyd received a 120-day jail term after pleading guilty to extreme DUI in Arizona. He served 24 days in custody, and he then was permitted to finish the time on house arrest. Presumably, the prosecutor will be taking the position that the full 96 days that Floyd was due to serve on house arrest should now be spent behind bars.

I'm surprised by this thought process. Countless doctors tell us it is a disease but for those fortunate enough to not have that gene can determine that since they don't have this issue that those who do are weak.

I wish I could get a glimpse of that grand view from the high horse you obviously are on.

If you have to go to the grocery store to get it, its not a disease. Its a consequence.

Cancer is a disease. Alzheimer's is a disease. ALS, and countless other things that people suffer that they didnt do a thing to acquire.

Those of us unfortunate enough to see this first hand know this to be true. For anyone saying anything different they need to educate themselves as they are ignorant to alcoholism & it's devastating effects. There's definitely a gene that causes this trait.

If being addicted to alcohol is a disease, is being addicted to nicotine a disease too?

Yes. Addiction is a disease.

Rick Perry agrees with you about scientific facts. That puts your "enlightened" opinion in "good" company.

How you get the "illness" determines whether or not its a disease.

I thought that was funny when I saw it too. Pretty sure if we did the same thing we could be spending weeks in jail.

Wow, got off with a slap on the wrist.. I'm very surprised a judge went this lightly on him...

I don't think he'll make the final 53 for the Vikings. Dude clearly doesn't get it. He's probably out pounding a few right now, celebrating his awesome day in court.
Based on their statement, I don't think the Vikings get it either. I feel any respected team would have cut ties immediately when he got caught drinking on house arrest. Instead, they made an excuse for him!! Ridiculous..

Totally agree. That's a self-serving thing to do, defending his behavior, and is potentially very BAD for Floyd the person.

Spielman's statement sets him up for failure though. One even slight mis-step and they both look like buffoons. I still say he doesn't make the final 53. Prove me wrong, Floyd!

I have two really good friends that are alcoholics. They have both quit drinking at this point but weird how their minds worked or didn't when they were drinking one of them wasn't an everyday drunk he wouldn't touch anything for months at a time but when he would drink the only thing that stopped him was passing out. I've seen him throw away everything in his life that was good because of it.

My other buddy was a 5th of vodka a night guy trying to hide how much he was drinking only thing that stopped him was his wife threatened to leave with his kids. He quit drinking and replaced it with smoking, gambling and anti anxiety pills prescribed by a doctor that he now has stopped using that took a couple of years.

Both good guys when sober but neither one of them changed their lives till they got older and to watch the depths that they would sink to just to get a drunk was really shocking.

I'm not making excuses or having any sympathy for MF. I have seen this pattern of behavior and just hope for his sake he can get some help before he ends up killing someone.

I guess the one thing that is really dissaponting to me is how uninformed and calloused people can be about an addiction. Wouldn't have a problem if he knew how to stop but?

The system is enabling this dumb arse. When he kills someone, that Judge should serve time with him.

He must be a season ticket holder.
