Injury bug
The Cardinals' injury list continues to grow like an uncontrollable vine.
Backup safety Justin Lucas, a key contributor in nickel situations and special teams, suffered a concussion and strained neck late in the second quarter. X-rays were negative, but Lucas is expected to miss five to seven days.
Lucas was hurt when a screen play by the Vikings went awry, and the ball was tossed in the middle of a crowd of players. Linebacker LeVar Woods ran into Lucas, who was falling to the ground.
Lucas' head bent back, and he stayed on the field for several minutes. He was moving his legs the entire time, but he left on a cart with his neck in a brace.
The Cardinals can't afford to lose another defensive back, after cornerback Duane Starks suffered a season-ending knee injury last week.
"They can't manufacture them," McGinnis said of the team's personnel department's search for help.
• Outside linebacker Raynoch Thompson (sprained wrist and thumb) is day to day.
• Long snapper Nathan Hodel suffered a separated shoulder on the third-to-last play of the game. His prognosis is listed as week to week.
