Sure is because if we get to Glennon our season is over anyway. I don't need a garbage QB at #3 on the depth chart for that cost just in case two other go down. If we get to that point the season is on trash heap already.

agreed. any season where you're down to your 3 starter is a lost cause anyway.

If Bradford is injured, it's Rosen's team at that point no question; however, he still needs a serviceable backup in the event that he's injured. Glennon is certainly not all-world, but he's not Gabbert. Plus, we have Glennon under contract for two seasons, meaning that the team doesn't have to scramble for another QB next season in the event that Bradford is released after this season.

This take is a bad take. If you're down to your 3rd QB the season's over anyway. You could probably bring Drew Stanton back for 1/3 of the cost of Glennon and about the same chance of "winning."

It's not a bad take. Glennon, on most other teams, is QB2. I don't subscribe to the groupthink that the season would automatically be toast, although the chances of being competitive would be slim. Glennon is better than Stanton and Gabbert, and even with those guys starting, we were still competitive last season. Plus, with two years of control, you can choose to keep him or release him the following season, depending on if there's a better option out there or not.

If someone were to offer a 5th rounder or better, then you have to consider it. A pick that would most likely be a player cut simply isn't worth it.

Besides, does anyone really think that Glennon is going to be cut this weekend, creating $4 mil in dead money?

I agree with those who said if the Cardinals are down to their 3rd quarterback the season is over. If the Cardinals can get something for Glennon, they should do it.

Im with TJ, the voice of reason. Chances of Bradford making thru the season are slim to none. We have a crappy, but better than most QB at the bottom of the depth chart, locked up for 2 years. Gotta stay with that, Kanoff to the PS (where you can make a decision on him if someone makes a play for him) and then the stability there allows you to focus on other areas of need.

No one is offering anything for Glennon. He is not good. Just like no one offered anything for Drew Stanton and no one offered anything for Blaine Gabbert. They are all replaceable players with what is available of the free agent market. You aren't winning games against good teams with these guys starting.

Aren't you the guy who thinks we're gonna win 6 games? What's the difference?

I disagree that Glennon would be a QB 2 on "most teams." Glennon is bad at football.

Carrying two QBs with Bradford and his degenerative knee as starter and Rosen as a backup (with injury concerns of his own stemming from college) is not a smart idea. Your best bet is to keep a serviceable backup in Glennon on the roster, whom you have under contract for at least two seasons. We had three QBs on the roster and needed all three throughout the season.

The 6th or 7th round pick that we'd get for Glennon is not worth the potential risk of having Kanoff as a starter.
Agreed...trading him gets you a low round conditional pick...if he has to play, you are guaranteed a top 10 pick.

I like the idea of trading Glennon now to clear up the extra roster spot early. Then when Bradford goes down, you bring someone else in and either he's your #2 or Kanoff's your #2. Either way, I don't think the difference between one of them and Glennon as your #2 is significant enough to justify tying up the extra roster spot for the entire season.

I don't know. I'd actually probably rather have Gabbert. Glennon has looked worse since his rookie year, not better.

Glennons first pass was a wobbler, but other than that he was firing missiles last night. Looked like a typical NFL backup QB to me. Does that have value to you?

Glennon only costs $2M against the cap. I'd keep him as the third string backup. If Bradford doesn't work out for some reason this year, then Glennon becomes the Cards backup to Rosen next season.

Keep Glennon-Bradford likely will get hurt sometime this season and no big need to force Rosen in a bad situation.Rather ease Rosen into action.Like Kanoff as developmental guy.

Frankly, I was surprised by all the pushback I got when I said this would be the best move and what the Cards would do. You can’t sign Bradford and draft a rookie without handcuffing them to a tested veteran. Doesn’t matter what the perception is about the situation when/if Glennon has to play meaningful downs, no GM is going to just lay down and quit.

Don't think so . What he's saying is it doesn't make sense, and it doesn't if you think about the dead money. I mean it cost less to keep him .
yeah it makes only sense if someone gives you something for him that is more than you think he is worth to you. A 5th round pick could do the trick for our team. If somene would offer me a 4th for Glennon I would trade him asap.
