Cardinals QB Mike Glennon will enter season with eyes wide open
“You know that in this league, situations are always fluid and anything can happen, but they didn’t say anything other than coach [Steve] Wilks saying the best player will play,” Glennon said Wednesday when asked how he fits into this mix.

“Obviously, I want to come in here and compete and do the best I can, but at the same time, I think I’m in a role now where I’m going to help by being another veteran Sam can talk to and then with a young rookie, a guy he can talk to as well. I’ve been around two highly drafted players (2017 second overall pick Mitch Trubisky in Chicago and 2015 first overall pick Jameis Winston in Tampa Bay). Hopefully, he’ll use me as a resource.”

Garbage he is not - low end starter great back up - same as McCown when he left arizona a decade ago - would have been nice to have McCown in whiz’s stupid decision time! DA or mccown ? Hall or Mccown - and so on

I read somewhere that Wilks already has Rosen as the #2. That in training camp Bradford will do 7 on 7 drills and etc but once it is 11 on 11, it will be Rosen taking all of the reps.

Teddy Bridgewater just got traded to the Saints... Not sure if that will impact Glennon...

Maybe it's just the way this was written, but it sure sounds like Uncle Phil just threw DJ Jazzy Jeff out the door. LOL.

Please please please trade him
And have two rookies back up a very injury-prone QB?

Unless there’s some contingency plan that involves getting a solid vet backup, trading Glennon is not a good choice.

We should only carry two for starters and the top draft pick rookie as a rookie is a much better option then Glennon. Much much better!

I'm ok with two rookies backing up Bradford, because I don't think the team would turn to Glennon if Bradford was injured for a substantial time anyway. If Bradford goes down in week 5 and will miss 6 games, the Cardinals will clearly turn to the QBOTF first. If that's the case, the team can fudge the recovery numbers and IR Bradford and then bring in a vet off the street to be Rosen's back up.

If the team has a shot a bag of Cheetos and a warm six pack of Schlitz for Glennon, make that trade PRONTO!

Trade Glennon now, if Bradford goes down, Rosen has to take the snaps, first of all he needs them to get better, second he is the best QB behind Bradford on our team so, if you want a chance he has to take the snaps.

If he goes down as well, than yes your season is over even if you have Glennon behind him. And no you don't safe him, if he isn't good enough to stand behind our mediocre O-line than we need an other QoF.

Carrying two QBs with Bradford and his degenerative knee as starter and Rosen as a backup (with injury concerns of his own stemming from college) is not a smart idea. Your best bet is to keep a serviceable backup in Glennon on the roster, whom you have under contract for at least two seasons. We had three QBs on the roster and needed all three throughout the season.

The 6th or 7th round pick that we'd get for Glennon is not worth the potential risk of having Kanoff as a starter.

Sure is because if we get to Glennon our season is over anyway. I don't need a garbage QB at #3 on the depth chart for that cost just in case two other go down. If we get to that point the season is on trash heap already.

If Bradford is injured, it's Rosen's team at that point no question; however, he still needs a serviceable backup in the event that he's injured. Glennon is certainly not all-world, but he's not Gabbert. Plus, we have Glennon under contract for two seasons, meaning that the team doesn't have to scramble for another QB next season in the event that Bradford is released after this season.
