I like Washington but I'd rather much give him up than DRC. Besides trading a ILB for a potential top 15 QB is a no-brainer.
This.
I would to, the problem is that we are playing a 3-4 and Washington is the only LB of the future on the roster IMO.
3-4 ILBs like Washington are easy to get and develop fairly quickly. We wouldn't be starting over that much. Besides, you can get a guy like James Anderson or Thomas Davis (both CAR), Mike Peterson (ATL), or Paul Posluzny and plug him in there. Heck, you could keep Paris Lenon at that position and your depth is a little more challenged (Although I think that Sturdivant is a better fit in at spot anyway) and get one of the bigger ILBs to play on the strongside and be all right.
Adrian Wilson and Steve Breaston for Kolb. I'd do that in a minute.
Then I'd sign Sidney Rice as a FA. I think that because of Fitz our WR corps is way overrated and Breaston and Roberts are just run of the mill WRs that could easily be replaced.
Wilson is at the end of his career. At his age and with his injury and coverage issues it would be a smart move to use him to get a young QB. Sure we'd all like to see him retire a Cardinal but not if we have to endure a string of 5-11 seasons to do so.
Breaston isn't under contract and likely won't be under a new CBA. Not sure why the Eagles would want him because I don't think he'd rank among their top three or maybe four WRs. Wilson's not going anywhere as he's a Whis guy.
Not sure why the Eagles would want Beanie. Hightower makes some sense because he's an RFA, but you can't have Beanie making more money as a first-rounder than McCoy. Even with Hightower you'd probably have to toss in a second-round pick to make the deal come together, but that'd be fair value to me.
