What decision (trade, hire, fire, draft pick, playing time etc), other than the 3 obvious ones, bothered you the most at the time it occurred. No hindsighting. For me, the one that angered me the most at the time it occurred was trading Ricky Sobers for Don Buse. In the final analysis, it was of little importance but I loved Sobers grit and his effort and just hated to see him go when we looked to be so close to a championship.

Please avoid the Kurt Thomas deal, the DJ trade and the absurd selling of the draft picks as they are pretty much despised by all Suns fans.

At the time it occured? Trading Marbury. He was the leader and leading scorer. He clearly had Barbosa under his wing at the time. Of course it was an extremely prescient move as we signed Nash and Marbury went CRAZY in NY.

Hey, yours was even worse than mine. Mine was just a non-event, yours proved to be a turning point for the franchise. Any idea why they haven't hired us as GM's yet?:)

I was never too fond of Marbury, although I liked things about him, so I wasn't too upset to see him go. Had we not made that deal, though, he might still be in the league and Dantoni would probably be back in Italy.

Trading for skita...we traded a second for Skita, and rarely played him.

Worst draft pick Jake Tsakalidis and Zarko Cabarkapa

I was bummed when Tyrone Corbin was left unprotected and was selected by the Timberwolves in the expansion draft.

Agreed on all points Steve. I'm a moron that pretends not to be as my short stint in graduate school suggests. (Actually, I left for health reasons. I'm a partial para-palegic.) This roster would look way different, and most likely be terrible if I were in charge.

I'd of taken the Houston deal instead of letting Amare walk. So no Chilldress, no Warrick, and no Hedo trade. So this is what we would prob look like if I were in charge...

Nash-Drag
JRich-Barbosa-Dud
Hill-Ariza-Clark
Scola-Battier-Gani
Lopez-Frye

Wait, that actually looks pretty good. I should be GM. I'd probably try and move Barbs & Clark together for an experienced backup PG like Dooling.

Letting JJ go really hurt at that time. This incredibly exciting 2005 Suns team never had a chance to try for more than one season (with JJ missing large parts of the WCF).

Was the JJ fiasco after Sarver bought the team? I'm pretty sure it was, although for some reason I don't remember for sure.

Jettisoning Marbury also allowed us to dump Penny's contract. That trade was a thing of beauty. I know JC was preparing to sell the team and had to dump payroll, but we were way too willing to dump Marbury considering we had just extended him on a max deal. I wonder what the eureka moment was for the Colangelo's when they realized that Marbury had to go. They had to know the guy was trouble. Enter the New York Knicks.

Yeah, it was. He had a chance to sign him to a deal his first year with the Suns and opted to let him prove his worth.

Trading Googs and picks to get out of his contract a year early.
Trading Kurt Thomas and picks to get out of his contract a year early when he was still a key role player for the team.
Trading the #7 pick in the draft for just a future pick of a team that was on the verge of being a playoff team just so they could offer Quentin Richardson 2 million more per season.

Oh there are too many horrible decisions by this organisation....

Trading away Rajon Rondo because apparently he wasn't good enough shooter..

Trading Marjele for Hot Rod Williams

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to mention this one. I'm certain it would be high on Barkley's list of despised decisions. At the time, I thought it was a great idea until it turned out they hadn't done their due diligence with his accident/shrapnel problem.

Or signing Steve Nash I know controversial but the odds are in my opinion that the Suns could have been more succesful if they did not sign Nash.

Had they not signed Nash, they could have signed a center or traded Marion for one and kept the #7 pick they traded away to sign Nash and Q.

If the Suns had stayed bad for just one more year they would have been in a position to draft Chris Paul or Deron Williams a year later. The Suns might have been a more defensive minded team and Amare might have developed into a better defensive player and team leader.

If we aren't allowed to say the Kurt Thomas "trade," then I'd probably go with Marion's premature maximum extension. The Suns were bidding only against themselves, it was an overpayment for a second-tier player, and it led to a rash of other harmful moves while the Suns were trying to keep their payroll somewhat under control.

Another huge disappointment, although not the Suns' fault, was when Atlanta won the #3 pick (Horford) when anything at #4 or lower would have gone to the Suns. Atlanta's chance of winning a top-three spot was less than half, 38% if I remember correctly. Had the Suns kept the pick, Horford probably would have been gone anyway, but Jeff Green and Joakim Noah went later in the lottery, and either would have helped the Suns a ton. The Suns were pretty high on Noah even then, I believe.

Ah Slin, only you could turn the most entertaining and arguably most successful Suns stretch into a negative. While I wasn't sure about signing Nash initially, it's hard to argue against two MVP seasons, especially considering he's never commanded a max salary.

For me, drafting Steve Nash instead of John Wallace. I was mad.

Ricky Sobers brought life to the Suns under an emotionless Coach.

But don't forget that Don Buse went on to be All-NBA defensive Guard for three consecutive seasons, a perfect complement to Paul Westphal, whose skills were on the offensive side.

Neither was a true Point Guard, which was also the case for Dennis Johnson, who replaced Buse, with three more consecutive years of All-NBA defensive Guard.

The Suns had six years in a row of All NBA defensive Guard. Unfortunately we also had a GM and Coach who lived by small ball, which has haunted the Suns ever since.

In a van...down by the river.
If i cant say the KT trade i'll also go with letting players like Rajon Rondo go because they didn't fit "the offensive system".
Next i'll go with the recent Nash extension that basically "extended" the same offensive system.
There's also the Wayman Tisdale signing that added offense to a team that had no need for more offense.

Not getting the atl pick cost us kevin garnett. We get that pick, we could have easily packaged it with marion to get garnett (marion almost got us garnett anyway, but he didn't want to go to boston in a 3-way) to add to amare/nash.

That pick cost us a championship.

coin flips and lotteries haved not been kind to the Suns. Maybe we can make up for that this year.

Neal Walk/Lew Alcindor (Kareem) ouch.
