My favorite Seahawks fan post-Super Bowl Facebook post

I grew up in Washington state, so I have a (literal) boatload of Seahawks fans among my friends and family.

In the midst of my post-game rants knocking them down a peg (no quarter shall be asked, for none shall be given), since the vast majority of them would actively smacktalk me (and actively root against the Cards) at various points these past few years, one of my childhood friends hit the nail on the head with a definite "moment of clarity".

"A smart man said to me "A team shouldn't be measured by wins and losses, but instead by their character and the effort they display." Baldwin's TD celebration, the fight at the end if the game, booing during the National Anthem, calling for the heads of those who have lifted the Hawks to where they are at- Seattle has some work to do."

He's a coach at East Valley High School in Yakima, Washington.

IMHO those kids are in good hands.

IMHO those kids are in good hands.

Good for him. It just seems like Seahawks have zero discipline. Always running their mouths, non stop penalties, etc.. This is why I love having Arians as a coach. I cannot recall anyone (besides Dockett, buts its ok bc its Dockett) that is undisciplined. He does not allow this to happen. Wonder if this loss is going to cause some serious roster blow ups during the off season

I've been saying for a few years now that I dislike this Seattle team and when prompted to answer why.. my reply is always steadfast... they are a bunch of classless, egotistical asshats that showed the world their true colors during this game.

They have all the talent in the world, but no humility. Their coach has always came across the same way, cocky, arrogant... no humility except when being interviewed he's sure to give off that appearance of humility.

--Yes, those kids are in good hands. Important to teach kids that they can have confidence but don't let it turn you into a douche.

If they really wanted to blame someone, blame Wilson for a bad throw! If he throws that ball a little less out in front of the receiver, then there would have been no chance that he intercepts that and then is a TD

I seriously doubt it. This type of activity is not only allowed in the Seahawks origination, it's often encouraged.

It's already well known that part of Carroll's defensive philosophy is to "play as nasty as the rules allow, then add some at the end of the play" in hopes of desensitizing the officials so they throw fewer flags (which both works, and doesn't work, in my opinion), a la Jeff Fisher, but when their GM John Schneider is quoted as saying (when asked about Lynch's sack-grabbing) "I kind of like his antics" it would appear that this is what they want.

This thread was very well put by your coaching friend from Yakima. Thank you for sharing this with us.

What is truly sad, is that THIS Super Bowl, (unlike most), was a really well played game, both offensively and defensively, by both teams, and was befitting of the Super job that was done by Michael Bidwill and the NFL, and the Cities of Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Glendale, in putting on one spectacular show after another, after another throughout this whole week. Yet there will ALWAYS be the stench from 'deflate gate', followed by what will almost surely be 'concussion gate', at the hands of the 'Cheatin Pats', AND the awful lack of sportsmanship, class, and good character shown by so many of the Seahawks, their Coach, and their Fans.

I believe that I mimic most of the football world when I say that Arizona 'knocked this one out of the park', with their presentation, and attention to detail, their efforts to show this as nothing but a fun filled, dramatic, sporting week for the fans of Football, Golf, and sports in general, when so much of the rest of the country was miserable from freezing blizzards. It is too bad that both teams while putting on a great game, couldn't have shown the same kind of class that Arizona did in presenting this magnificent week of fun for ALL sports fans.

Carroll is a guy who has always struck me as he really wants his players to think he's cool. That's the root of all the discipline issues his team has. However, he's offset that with great talent and getting his teams to play hard.
