I know a million threads on him just wanted to address one issue in particular.

Anderson has the fatal flaw for a QB in that often when he misses, he misses high. That pick by Moore yesterday he's throwing to Stephen Williams who's like 6'4". Admittedly he got hit as he threw but the ball is high, Williams tips it, pick. It's an absolutely fatal flaw for a QB. For 4 years I've been watching Riley at Cal do the same thing, mobile, big arm, when he's on looks like a first round pick, but he has that fatal flaw of throwing high(because he has a long throwing motion).

Anderson is the same way, except he's not a college senior, he's an NFL veteran.

Hall didn't look good at the end but to be fair the game was totally out of hand and he had little to no prep time I'm assuming for the game. Hall will make mistakes too but I really feel like we're going to be seeing more of him sooner than later, I just don't get the impression DA is going to last with all the high throws. The Rams dropped 2-3 picks last week and again this week DA missed some big throws where guys were open and were just missed.

If he doesn't step it up Whiz is going to say let's see what Hall can do in real games.

My issue with DA is he is playing for our Arizona Cardinals, and not another UFL team.

I think when he misses he misses everywhere lol. High, low, behind, in front.

Definitely true but he has a really bad habit of high throws over the middle which is suicide in the NFL.

Worst part is at least Jimmy Clausen is going to start for the Panthers going forward. At least Fox is not being stubborn, and will get to find out what kind of QB he has. And yes he will have a lot of bumps along the way, but so what...

Why is that bad news, Clausen will turn it over repeatedly.

I agree Russ, I'm sure he will turn it over, but again at least the Panthers will see first hand what they have as far as there so called QBOF.

Just wish we were doing the same thing this week with Hall, that's all..

CBS Sportsline said:
It’s likely that Anderson will be the starter against the Raiders in Week 3. It usually takes a head coach six or seven games to come to grips with the fact that they won’t be the one to solve Anderson’s accuracy woes. Hall’s name is more likely to surface in serious discussion around Halloween.
This line got a chuckle out of me.

Sorry I didn't mean to post that like that I got a phone call and hit enter without finishing my post.

I just think Clausen will work out badly for Carolina. I can't remember if it was ESPN or NFL Net but someone yesterday during the highlights show(ex player) said "if I were DeAngelo Williams or Steve Smith I'd sue Carolina for non support."

The idea being they were stuck with turnover prone Delhomme, finally dump him and now it's Matt Moore and Clausen. So even if they bench Moore, it's a rookie QB so you can assume more struggles.

I think Clausen will be a bust. With Max I'm willing to wait a bit to let him get his feet wet before we throw him in there as a starter. I have to admit I'm anxious to see if what he did in the preseason is going to translate, he really impressed me in the preseason.

No problem Russ, to be perfectly honest, I truly wish that we wouldn't even have to be talking about our QB issue in the first place. If the FO and Whiz had planned this better in the first place, we wouldn't even be talking about this at all. But I do agree with you 100% that I am also anxious to see what we have in Hall...

I want to see Max too.

I'll throw another name out there just for sheer speculation, Carson Palmer.

He signed a huge extension in 05, through the 2014 season. at one point he was the highest paid QB in the NFL, Brady passed him and I assume Bradford and maybe some others have too.

Carson has not been great of late, has had some injuries etc. but he's also been in an incredibly dysfunctional situation and this year now has to deal with TO and Chad together.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Bengals aren't good this year they just decide to blow it up and start over and trade or dump Palmer. He counts like 15 million again their cap this year and apparently his bonus is 4.8 per year against the cap(per USA today).

he'd be an interesting guy if you can get him at the right price. he's 30 right now, has had some injuries, but he's still got a strong arm, in a system where there's not so much idiocy around him I really think he's got 4-5 good years left in him.

you're comparing starting a 2nd round qb who was highly touted coming out of college to starting an undrafted rookie free agent who is also undersized. i just don't see the comparison b/c i'll be really sad if our front office and coaching staff honestly things max hall is our qbof.

if Max hall starts this season, I have to believe it will be the first time in over 20 years that an undrafted FA QB starts in his rookie season.

Carson Palmer? Hell I'd love that for the right price...

I guess I'm just looking at QB's who for one reason or another might be available this offseason.

If Gradkowski takes over the Raiders job, Campbell would be in that group, but I doubt that.

Also if Vick wins the Eagles job, Kolb would be available.

Neither of those guys really thrill me.

Unfortunately, we have more problems than our QB position if we can't run the ball, stop the run, or protect the QB. I do agree, however, Derek Anderson tends to throw high and that is a fatal flaw in the NFL.

Ouchie, all I can say is that Whiz and the front office are the ones who put this team in the position we are now, with our QB situation. I in know way am saying Hall is the QBOF for this team as of now. But again since Whiz made this decision and DA blows, what the hell do we have to lose now.And to be perfectly honest I don't care what round a player is drafted, he still has to perform regardless.

Some people that I have a lot of respect for keep saying this. Is this because they want the season to be terrible so we can spend our high draft pick on Levi Brown's replacement/a pass rushing OLB, or because they think that Max Hall can win football games as a UDFA rookie?

I hope it's the first, because Max Hall sucks. He looked good against the scrubbiest of the Washington Redskins' scrubs (seriously, Shanahan didn't dress his third tight end in that game). I'm sure it's fun watching the little kid scamper around and try and play with the big boys, but let's be real about it. He's a UDFA whom every team in the NFL passed over multiple times, and no team with a competitive QB situation offered him a contract, so he came to a team with two established players and a draft pick and somehow lucked his way into a #2 job.

As for Carson Palmer, I'd love to roll the dice on him, but I don't see that strong arm anymore.

Mike Vick is a free agent this offseason.

There's no way in the world that happens, though.

starting Max Hall at QB will make us the laughingstock of football... however, we might get back there this season anyway.

so happy the FO just completely ignored a perenial playoff contending QB who was BEGGING to come here so we could tuck even more ridiculous sums of money away, hording more than 28 other teams.

Matt Moore was an URFA in 2007, and started 3 games for the Panthers that same year.
