Manning had it down to two teams and they both FAILED

I have no idea how or why they failed, but they FAILED

or he wouldn't be meeting with the Titans

I can not believe they messed this up!!!

...ya'll can lie all you want about it's not over....but had they done the great job...he wouldn't still be looking.

Manning didn't throw for Denver and took plenty of time throwing to Fitz and Roberts....shows he was very interested
Did Russ Grimm scare him with the horrible O-line protection?
Did Roberts run too slow...drop passes
Did Fitz leaving the interview to catch a stupid flight matter...

IDK - but as a season ticket holder I can not believe how angry I am.

My opinion - you give ZERO credit to Peyton Manning as the comsummate professional that he is. This is his show, and he is doing his due diligence. And that is part of the package, and another reason why everyone wants him.

We'd all love (most of us) for him to immediately sign on the dotted line, but throwing this one on the organization is as head-in-the-sand as it comes.

And at least half the crap you just posted is conjecture.

I am shocked that the person who consistently craps on the organization and talks about how everyone is leaving season tickets claims we have already failed. Shocked I tell you!

For this situation, when everyone is clamoring for info that is fact-based, a thread that is opinion needs to be pointed out.

Nothing makes die hard fans engage in irrational behavior like the Arizona Cardinals. If everything in your life was as dysfunctional and just down right crazy you'd either commit suicide or have yourself committed. Nothing about being a fan of the Arizona Cardinals is Dead Solid Ordinary.

Six Teams, Three Tiers

So apparently, Condon has been contacted by 6 teams to discuss contract terms. Here's by interpretation of the 6 teams.

Tier 1: Manning Genuinely Interested (AZ, DEN)
Took time to visit team's facility, meet staff, and talk football.

Tier 2: Manning Give Pity Meeting (MIA, TEN)
Manning gives meeting to team officials, but won't visit their facilities. Both these locations have history with Manning, so this could be a courtesy more than anything. I suspect he is doing his agent a solid by throwing them a bone.

Tier 3: Kicking the Tires (SF/HOU)
Manning isn't visiting or talking to team. They seem to have other QB options that they prefer over him. Nevertheless, they have contacted his agent to talk about the contract. Call it due diligence.

I think it is still a 2 team race.

My opinion: Peyton has never been a free agent before and never will be again. He's enjoying the experience.

I knew it would come to this because Manning left without a contract.

Guess what? He left Denver without one also. Peytons covering all his bases & I don't blame him...he's being recruited just like he did coming out of HS...and this is his last contract!!!

It's a fallacy to think him entertaining other offers means he wasn't happy with our Cardinals. It's called leverage. If he's smart, he'll entertain every offer possible. Not that he didn't have all the leverage to begin with mind you, but the longer this goes on the more likely it is that people start to panic. Kinda like some of the people on here. Signing a dude like Manning isn't for the feint of heart.

Overreact Much? He came and met with us and I never expected him to leave with a contract. His agent wasn't part of the process. I think the TN and Miami thing is just pure PR. He played his college ball in Tenn and lives in Miami. If he didn't give the token time of day interview he might be offending part of his fan base. I also believe it is still a two house race.

Here is a possibility (While WHiz, Grimm and Peyton in the SUV on the way to dinner):

Manning "Hey Ken..I think I am going to join your te" interrupted by Grimm

Grimm "Shut up Peyton!!!!!! Hey Ken turn up the radio..it's Bruce!"

How do we know that the reason why PM isn't visiting the Titan or Dolph. headquarters while traveling to CO and AZ is because he never visited the Bronc and Card facilities before, but lived in both Tenn and Miami and was familiar with the scene and franchises in TN and So FL?

There ain't a person on this site if put in the same position Manning is in, that wouldn't do the same thing.

If the Cards offered him a billion dollars and a free ticket to heaven, he would still have gone on to check out his other options.

That being said, I don't think the Cards are going to land him. I don't know why I think that, but it probably stems from being a Cardinal fan for 50 years and just used to things not going our way.

The fact that Peyton is meeting only with Miami's and Tennessee's HC, and not any owners, GM's, players etc. speaks volumes, IMO.

I don't think he is serious about either team.

Have a look at the owners in Miami and Tennessee and ask yourself if they are Manning type of guys?

Cardinal ownership are not historically high rollers. They're in a new league here and may not be comfortable playing the game.

That's possibly the reason for your gut skepticism.

Miami, maybe. Tennessee, not so much - he played in Knoxville - three hours away, and he was done with college by the time the Titans were playing in Nashville.
