Wll artest and/or martin fit? I think no.

uhhh why wouldnt they? artest is a great fit for our system, if only he didn't have the attitude and off court troubles. He plays better perimeter d than just about everyone in the league and is a good scorer when he chooses his shots wisely.Kevin Martin is one of the brightest young stars in the league who can score from all over the floor. why would he not fit in?

Its nice to read a poster that doesn't wear blinders on this subject.
The only player type that wouldn't fit in here is someone that:
A) Can't run
B) Can't shoot
C) Needs the ball
I'd venture to say that Artest can run,shoot, & despite whats been said....he's not a ball hog. Any member of the Sacramento Kings thats willing to take shots shouldn't be labeled a "ball hog" IMO.
If he were to start for the SUNS he may get 10-12 shots/gm. & i believe that he'd be satisfied with crashing the boards, defending, & getting garbage put-backs ala S. Marion. Not to mention getting the green light to jack up a few treys like the rest of the squad does.
High risk = High reward .
Look at it this way, whats the difference in bringing in an Artest that will either do something dumb & become a nuisance or stay cool & give us a much needed toughness & defensive presence versus bringing in a G. Hill that if can stay healthy(a big if) can provide us with alot of experience & versatility on offense or snap his ankle in early November only to ride the pine for the rest of the year?
Signing Hill was a big risk but the SUNS were willing to gamble on the upside.
Why should bringing in an Artest be view upon as being taboo?

Remember, the last time Hill had ankle surgery was 2003. the last time Artest was suspended for a game is the next seven games!

I love the addition Grant Hill but lets not make false assumptions as argument here.
Bringing in Artest would be as high a risk as signing Hill.

Find out who had possession of the ball more often then those assists may be relevant. You cant infer that hill is unwilling to pass the ball the ask not to make false assumptions in the same post.

Hill has showed he is healthy, and hasnt had ankle issues since 2004, and has showed potential for an amazing future for this season.

Artest continues to get into trouble and it has even affected his future, despite putting one of the biggest black marks on the league in player history 2 years ago.

Hill has added a 3 point threat and new playmaking capabilities to his arsenal and the team this summer. Artest added an assault conviction for attacking his wife, and animal cruelty charges for starving his dogs.

Artest is also 4x more expensive.

Artest also has more requests to "take a break" from basketball to go be a rap artist.



Again, if Artest showed he had cleaned up his act or had taken steps to show he was at least trying some self improvement this board would prob be in unanimous agreement.
