bump for review.

Hope somebody remembers to bump it again next year.

Good predictions for the most part so far. Landry, AP and Willis all had great seasons. CJohnson was ok. Looks like Reggie Nelson did well also with 5 picks and Amobi Okoye had 5.5 sacks. Joe Thomas got rave reviews. And finally Jeff's pick David Harris put up "monster numbers" once Vilma got hurt.

ASFN geniuses do it again.

Good find duck. We've got to do it again this year.

Early indications on last year, about the players we picked in this thread, are that Ginn and Calvin Johnson, although not busts, have underperformed expectations.

No data to return yet on Russell and Quinn.

Many thanks *bows* I wasn't for drafting Brown because, as a Penn State homer, he just hadn't blown me away. I wasn't completely against it, though, both because I wanted to give the team the benefit of the doubt and because we had painted ourselves into a corner and NEEDED him. Now? He has shown he can play and, if he stays healthy, should help us to the playoffs. AP or Willis, though...man, it's hard to say I wouldn't rather have one or the other of them.

Was having a look at past first rounds. 2006 looks like a 50% bust year but the scary thing is it might be an even worse year where the Cards are concerned.

With Leinart a real question mark and Deuce Lutui underperforming, that year looks shaky for us.

I had very strong opinions about Thomas and Nelson last year. The year before, it was Leinart, Bush and Young. This year? Not so much. I think it has to do with not being in the top 5 or 10.

Same here. Not picking in the top 10 is really weird. Just not paying that much attention to the top college players. But then I haven't paid much attention to college football since Texas won the BCS in 2005.

Probably 50/50 as well on our picks from '06. Leinart, Latui, Pope and Watson have a lot of potential but for the most part, so far, thats all its been. I really like Watson and Latui though and expect them to play much better in '08 with a year under Whis n Co.

I can't believe that I didn't participate in this thread last year. I would have gone Joe Thomas and AP.

A new thread is in order for this year.

I agree we need the 2008 predictions in a new thread. Otherwise its going to be too hard to keep track of it this time next year. But I think its too early to start the new one as it would likely get lost among all the other posts over the next 6 weeks. Probably should get it up around the first week of April.

The two longs. Neither of them will fail.

Exactly what I was going to say.

I dunno for sure about football, but kids of major leaguers succeed in baseball significantly more often than they should based on their draft status. There's some psychological benefit to knowing that Dad could do this stuff, probably. That helps Chris, and makes me more confident about his chances.

Jake is just one helluva football player.
