In my opinion, the bold is what makes a great adaptation. That's why I can't really comment in here; the only SK "book" I've read is The Long Walk...which I can't fathom ever successfully translating to a movie.What makes a movie a great adaptation of a novelist's work? Stephen King still absolutely hates Kubrick's version of The Shining. Is a movie one of the best/worst because it does well at the box office, becomes a cult favorite, or because it stays true to the original work? Honestly curious.
