Alando Tucker got to play with Nash for the first time a few days ago in Nash's charity game in Vancouver. Barbosa also played, and Bell was there too but did not play.
Nash used an alley-oop pass to set up Alando Tucker for a thunderous dunk. He snagged a loose ball off the floor and flipped it to Barbosa for a smooth layup. He also drained a couple shots of his own, bringing a roar from the fans.

I had the pleasure of attending. Before the game there was a "block party" where people were encouraged to donate to a variety of charities. Nash showed up and spent practically an hour signing autographs, making sure he got to everyone. Didn't stop when the rain started, ended up soaked like the rest of us. Wore his "everyman" clothes as usual.

I had him sign a pic from the 2003 all star game with Nash wearing his "No War: Shoot for peace" T-shirt. He was the only professional athlete who had the courage to speak out against the war in Iraq before it began.

I was expecting him to be taller. There's no way he's 6'3. 6'2 tops, more like 6'1. He played a game of horse with a fan and let him win, naturally. He was asked what his biggest wish was. He said that he wished people would stop behaving so violently toward one another. Coming from a Miss America contestant the answer would sound trite, but with Nash you know he's sincere.

Sam Cassell stole the show in terms of quality of play. You could tell Nash was playing about six or seven gears below his usual level, which was fine by me, so long as he stays healthy. I was quite impressed with Tucker. This guy's got a lot of potential and could conceivably make a big impact on the Suns this year.

All in all a fun night and well worth the ticket price.
