You know what the idiotic things is that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt how useless things like twitter and facebook are?

Everyone now says everyone is either outraged at or jumping ship from the Suns and following Nash to Lakers.

When will people realize that utterly useless twitter and farcebook only show a few vocal minority. There's easily a million Suns fans or more. So what if 100 or so cry from the rooftops.

Twitter and Facebook....creating mountains out of molehills since created. Free drama generation for the idiot media to report as news.

The idiot media too lazy to be journalists have two themes for free.
1. Suns fans outraged
2. Suns fans jump ship to become Lakers fans

The insanity produced from the idiot media + useless digital info collecting to sell to advertisers corporations, completely misinterpreted is asinine to the extreme.

The soap opera media...where drama is supposed to sell. Personally this is far worse than trading a free agent for four draft picks.

Okay, after a day, here's where I am. Nash in a Lakers uniform is something I'll just have to get over. I wanted to see Nash raise the Larry O'Brien Trophy in a Suns jersey, but I've been resigned to not seeing that since after the 2010 team. If it happens, it was going to happen somewhere else anyway.

If it's time for Nash and the Suns to move on, if he wants to be close to his kids, and if he likes the thought of one more run at the trophy--it's not a personal affront to me. Likewise, I'll be cheering against the Lakers not to begrudge Nash, but because they're the rival team and because I want the picks to be as good as they can be.

I hope the Suns fans give him a standing O whenever he's in Phoenix and I'm sure for the most part they will. One thing I always loved was how (warning: hockey reference coming) the Montreal fans cheered Guy Lafleur when he scored a goal against them during his comeback. It's just the way to be. Nash is never going to disparage Phoenix and we may see him in the organization again.

Now, it's all about the moves the Suns make with the resources they have. Five years from now Steve Nash could be sitting courtside in Phoenix while Marshall dishes to ??? and ??? to seal a victory in the playoffs. I hope to see it.

Yeah, its the same idiotic AZ media that acts like its a gloomy, depressing mess on one of the five or six days it actually rains in the valley too. Yesterday was a beautiful day and a nice change up from the endless hot & sunny repetition we get 355 days a year...yet they act like its going to ruin everybody's day  The PHX media is silly.

That was weather....
Now back to basketball...

I do not blame Steve Nash for going to the Lakers. I will applaud him and thank him when he comes back to town.

It would be pretty funny if the first sellout in two years is when Steve Nash comes back to town as a Laker.

It appears that Nash still wanted to stay here and be a part of the rebuilding process over the next three years even if that meant no chance at a title. It was the Suns who ultimately decided to pull the plug on the Nash era and not pursue him to re-sign.

I hardly ever watch Phoenix weather reports for this reason. It's like the forceasters do not know where they live.

Do you honestly believe this FO can actually turn those "assets" into useful players? I don't.
I don't either....the bottom first round picks are typically worthless unless you get lucky. but it's better than nothing and it prevents the lakers from getting young talent. this is an interesting move for both teams. for the lakers they are going all in, but they are going to be hurting in a couple of years if they don't get some younger guys. I think this puts them right to the top of the WC, but it will be short lived if they don't get younger in other areas.

Which is why one of these picks might amount to something. Maybe.

Now that I've had almost a full day to let this whole deal fester places where I stand. I think Steve Nash is the perfect piece for that Lakers team. He will make that offense (provided they don't suffer multiple serious injuries) unstoppable with his shooting, pick and roll, and general playmaking abilities. They should be able to cover for his defensive liability better than most teams.

Because we were handing them such a great asset we really should have insisted on more return. Let's face it, the Lakers and Denver second round draft picks are useless. The only second round draft picks that are worth anything are at the beginning of the second round. Those picks will definitely come at the end of the second round. Barring catastrophic Lakers injuries that 2013 draft pick is going to be pretty worthless. So the only thing we really got out of the deal was that 2015 Lakers draft pick, and I think most of us believe that is unlikely to be a top 15 draft pick.

Let's be clear. Steve Nash did not go to the Lakers to try and get us the highest return on his value. I keep hearing that "he could have signed somewhere without a trade and left us with nothing". Sure, but there was only one team offering him the money he wanted could do it without a sign and trade and that was not a desirable destination.

We just handed the LA Lakers a great shot at another championship or two. They should have had to sacrifice more for it. I feel like the Memphis grizzlies right now.

well you could get lucky like the spurs did with parker and ginobli(2nd rounder out of argentina) right?

those bottom feeder first round picks are like second day NFL picks. typcially the nba draft has a major fall off after the first 5-10 picks depending on the year.

they can come in and play a support role if you surround them with guys like kobe/nash/etc. but if you expect them to be your starter without any help you are destined to fail. even parker and ginobli were lucky to be drafted by a team that was already a GREAT team before they were there.

the best draft picks the mavs have had during the cuban era were late first rounders and both bargain guys. perfect example..... josh howard and roddy beaubois. they were bottom feeders in the first round. they looked great early when they are surrounded by great players, but when the mavericks started looking for them to evolve they never did.

this is why i think orlando would be stupid to trade dwight howard to new jersey for 3 or 4 late 1st rounders.

at the end of the day at least you got something for nash. he was leaving anyway. it's not like you traded him midseason or pulled a cuban LOL and let him walk from a playoff contender.

I just read an article that stated that the Lakers luxury tax for next season would be $65 million if the tax went into effect this coming season instead of the following. Their payroll is likely to be around $90 million. That's $20 million over the LT threshold which hits them with a $3.25 tax per dollar that they are over. They would essentially be paying $155 million for their roster. Wow! If they become a multiple offender (exceeding the threshold 4 out of the last 5 years) it bumps up to $4.25 per dollar.

This maybe the last run for the Lakers. There is no way they can keep their core together. Bynum is in his final year of his contract. They can't resign him while keeping Kobe, Gasol, and Nash. Gasol is the one to go, but they'll need expiring contracts and they'll be desperate.

This is going to reshape the league. Even the Heat will have to take notice.

Why not?
