At least it will help Nash's legacy to get all those stupid Lakers fanboys on his side now who were hating on him before because he was better than Kobe when Kobe was at his peak.

The Best I can wish for is Kobe goes down with an injury and the Lakers miss the playoffs, while Nash still does well. I would also like to see the Lakers not be able to get Howard that way they don't have any good players once, Kobe and Nash end their careers.

4 years ago this would have killed me...The Suns FO has so alienated me I just don't care anymore. I'll root for Nash to get his ring, as nauseating asit will be to watch the Lakers I wan Nash to get his.

Meh, if the Lakers are the ones to keep the Heat from repeating next year, I'd call this a double win for us. Like lots of people said, we won't be competitive in the next 2-3 years. Let Steve go somewhere to compete for a ring while we rebuild.

He could have easily signed directly with the Lakers and given us nothing. But Steve worked with us and got us a bevy of draft picks in return. That enhances him, not diminishes him, in my mind. Even if he's now a stinking Laker...

The dumb logic is that the same people who are pissed about loyalty are the same people who would have liked to trade him away when we could have. There is no loyalty in that either.

I'm happy for steve and happy about what we got for him.

I swear people would have been pissed anywhere Steve went. If he stayed here he would have been hurting our rebuild and relented in the fact he didn't want a ring. In Toronto it would have been all about the money. NY he would have been a ring chaser as well as with LA Miami or even Orlando.

Suns fans be happy for once. Seriously and stop whining.

This is the lowest point in Suns history. Without question. Sarver is a movie villain at this point. I think he's been a double agent for the Lakers all along. I wish nothing but ill on him. He is a monster.

David Stern would disagree.

If you're happy about this deal, you're not a long-time Suns fan. You don't even know what it means to be a long-time Suns fan.

The fact that the picks won't amount to anything (which I promise, they won't) is not even factored into my hate.

If you're even looking at the logic of the deal, you not only don't understand the Suns, you don't understand sports.

Thanks for your input. Now go F yourself 379.

yeah especially on this board. if we got some players in s&t from either toronto or ny, people would still bish and moan. he could have easily left outright because we already lost him.

Maybe we could use the 2013 Lakers pick or the 2nd round picks to get Marcus Morris?

They wanted to deal for him on draft night last year but Houston wanted a future first round pick and we were obviously not going to deal one of our own.

Morris value must have gone down after the season and the draft picks Houston made.

If we get Gordon or if we slide over and get Mayo or T-Will, I'd love for the Suns to trade the Lakers 2013 pick to Houston for the other Morris. It was rumored that the Suns wanted another pick to grab both MOrris' last year.

Dragic, Gordon (Mayo/T-Will), Beasley, Frye, Gortat 1st unit with a
Marshall, Dudley, Morris, Morris, Lopez 2nd unit would be awesome.

Edit: Nice thinking Slinslin.

I'd like to think we are still in the position to make low money gambles like Johnny Flynn, Anthony Randolph, Terrence Williams.

Thabeet would have been a decent cheap gamble if we can't bring back Robin Lopez.

Any news on Greg Oden btw?

Thabeet agreed on a 2 year deal with OKC yesterday

That's why I said "would have been".

What is the latest on Greg Oden? Seems like the best option to me if we have to let Robin go. The FA market for cheap centers is non-existant unless you want to bring in a total scrub like Pat Burke or Jake Voshkul.

Omer Asik isn't really better than Lopez. In fact when Lopez can get healthy he surely is better but Asik got almost 30M$.

IF we can't retain Lopez, I would look at guys like Diop, Hadaddi, Gray, Mahinmi, Pryzbilla, Hill. I'm hoping we can get a couple big men. Hopefully Lopez and Hill.

okay, i'm actually happy we got something for nash. that's a turn of events for this front office. though i'd really like to see what the protection is on the 2015 pick.

but a little bit of my heart breaks at the thought of nash gearing up for the lakers. i mean, it really breaks my heart. it's difficult to separate the objectivity of my first comment with the emotion of the second. do i hate steve for this? no (okay kinda - we'll see what visceral reaction actually seeing him play for the lakers has on me). do i hate the front office for this? yeah, a little. i get it from an objective standpoint, but i hate that the front office let it get to this point. i now kinda see sarver, babby, and blanks as carpetbaggers. they're from outta town, don't hold the same emotional connection to the suns as us fans, and don't realize the depth of pain that nash to lakers imposes upon us.

This most closely resembles my thoughts... I'll also add that, from what I can tell, it was Nash that really pushed Sarver and Babby into making this deal. He wanted to remain close to his kids - I can't begrudge him for that. And, the fact that Sarver and Babby were able to somehow get picks for Nash is somewhat amazing to me and so un-Suns like!

It is going to be nearly impossible to watch a Suns-Lakers game now. Next to the Spurs, there was no other NBA I viscerally despised more than the Lakers. Yet, there was never another NBA player I loved more than Nash... What an amazing collection of emotions... Wow...

I do not blame Steve Nash for going to the Lakers. I will applaud him and thank him when he comes back to town. He made a choice that was right for him and his family. I am thankful that the Suns got something out of it and did not take on any more salary.

That said, I will not root for him. I hope he falls flat on his face. Not because I am bitter, but because he is now a Laker, and the Lakers are the enemy.

Time for age to catch up with Stevie boy quickly and for the Lakers to try to move forward without youth and without picks.

You and your Marcus Morris man crush lol. I can bet my right kidney that guy is a wasted draft pick.

He wanted to be closer to his kids. I'm not buying that one. He spent his offseason in NY!

eh we can judge him all we want, but what if you were in his shoes?
playing hard, from gashed faces to broken noses, only to watch your team go from great to awful. 38yrs old and still producing some of the best pg numbers in the NBfreakinA. i support his decision, he did all of his work with class - off and on the court. if any of you have kids, being that much closer really make thats much of a difference.

as a suns fan, time to move on.
