Watching the celebrity game. As much of an anti-Terrell Owens fan that i am, i've got to admit that he's got some skills. Good form on his shot, good speed and willing to PASS.;)
Who designed those plaid uni's though?
Alyssa Milano is still hot.
Floyd Mayweather's got some game too.
Shaq on hand taking in the game. Interviewed by ESPN & it's good to hear him talking about playing when ready & not giving the network any guarantees to playing against the Lakers after the break on the BIG network.

Whats up with D.Gibson being healthy enough to go out and dominate in the rookie challenge but miss 4 regular season games prior to that?
This guy's my 3-point specialist on one of my rotisserrie teams!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gibson shattered Kyle Korver's Rookie Challenge record of seven 3-pointers set in 2005. He fell one point shy of Amare Stoudemire's mark for points in the annual showcase and took home MVP honors and joined Zydrunas Ilgauskas (1998) - not LeBron James - as the only Cavaliers to win the award.

Sigh. I was hoping to see him play in that game. Guess we have to wait a little bit more, huh. I hope it doesn't take too long before he's 100% in shape and confident. I'm sooooooo anxious to see this new team!
Oh and nice pics. :)

I think he'll play against the Lakers. One more game off or two is not going to make him any more ready. But they can't practice again until Tuesday so I hope at least he is still working out over the weekend.

It just isn't the same without Shaq. Sure he is there and I am still going to watch, but an All-Star weekend where Shaq isn't playing in the game is a travesty.

On a lighter note, who is to hoping that stupid NBA rule that if a player is healthy enough to play in the game before the break he can't backout of the all-star game really is to our advantage? Kobe has to play, I don't wanna wish injury onto anyone, but there is a good chance during play his pinky might be injured more. He has a right to be pissed, but the NBA might be looking out for a few teams lol.

Shaq has been out injured and he has not been in playing shape so it is more than understandable why he wasn't chosen for the All-Star team. However, I'm hoping he returns in playing shape and injury free after the All-Star game.

Excuse me if I don't worry about Kobe's pinkie.

I love those pics. Imagine if they just showed up unannounced:

"Honey, is that...is that Steve Nash...painting our house??" :D

Here are my picks for tonight's events:

3 point shootout winner: Peja upsets Kapono's attempt to repeat.

Dunk contest winner: Dwight Howard gets the sympathy vote and takes the crown, because he should have won last year.

Skills contest: Jason Kidd wins, using the All-Star weekend as a way to showcase his ability before the trade deadline.

Shooting stars: The silliest of tonight's events. I suppose Detroit repeats by getting lucky with another half court heave?

The only event that slightly intrigues me is the 3 point shootout.

It's really cheesy. There are three players per team/franchise: A current star from the NBA, a retired star, and then a woman who plays for the WNBA franchise. So last year's Detroit team had Billups, Laimbeer, and Swin Cash (whoever the heck she is). They all take timed shots from various spots on the floor (layup, free throw line, three point line, half court). From this link:

"The Shooting Stars contest features one current NBA player, one current WNBA player and one NBA legend on each team. There are six numbered shooting locations of increasing difficulty, with each team attempting to make all shots in numeric order in the fastest time. Each team will select a specific player rotation to follow throughout the competition. Each shot must be made before the next player begins shooting in succession. Teams have up to two minutes to complete the entire shooting course and the team that completes all six shots in the least amount of time is declared the winner. In the case of a tie, a shoot-off will be used to determine the winner."

As you can imagine, not many franchises even qualify to participate (not everybody has an "NBA Legend" willing to do this, or a WNBA team they can draw players from for that matter). But it's not all that interesting to watch. The prospect of an old, fat Bill Laimbeer heaving shots from half court just doesn't draw the crowds as much as you'd think. ;) But if I remember correctly, the winnings go to charity, though. So that's kind of cool.

In the off-season, Cash has appeared as a studio analyst on ESPN's NBA Fastbreak, according to ESPN.com.

It's pretty lame, but I liked the first time they did it. I told my friend the Suns were a lock to win it since Majerle would nail the half court shot and he did. That year, Nash also won the skills contest and Bell won the three point contest. If Amare won the dunk contest it would have been a Suns sweep. That may have been the most exciting Suns season ever.

EDIT: I think it was Q, not Bell
