Wha? Not crazy about those rumors. We already have a shooting guard of the future. And we'd be trading that pick? Would the thought be to play him at the 3? Super not crazy about that idea.
Why? Butler is well capable of playing the 3 and has the size and strength for it as well.

I don't think we'd be interested in him, but it's interesting nonetheless. Remember when stealing him away from the pursuits of Dallas and Cuban was such a victory for the Clips?

The Los Angeles Clippers have contacted the Suns about a DeAndre Jordan trade. Nothing imminent as of now.

I like it. Who do they want? Warren, Bender, and one of the MIA picks? If they're convinced that Paul is leaving next summer, they might be ready to blow it up.

He makes 22 million a year and is a liability at the end of games.

So what? The Suns have a (relatively) tiny payroll, and he can be taken out in crunch time.

Sure he can be taken out, but having to take out a player who takes up a quarter of your cap during "winning time" is not the best recipe for success.

I'm betting they want our pick either this year, or next year. Warren is meh... Bender's stock is probably nothing right about now and our pick next year will be better than Miami's. But I'd do next year's pick as well.

If we were somehow able to get Ball and we ran

Ball
Booker
Some kind of 3 and D guy
Chris
Jordan

That team is SUPER-athletic, young and would be fun to watch.

He's been on all-NBA teams three times. He was on an all-NBA defensive team twice. He may be the best defensive and rebounding center in the league. He led the NBA in rebounding twice. While not a polished offensive player, he gets 10-12 points per game on dunks and offensive put-backs. If you can get him without giving up anyone from the core, you have to do it.

He's playing in the wrong era. If this was the 90s I'd be all for it.

There is a chance the hack-a-shaq rules could change some this summer, they're always something the league is looking at so I wouldn't use Jordan's FT shooting stop a deal. I wonder what the cost is though. I'd part with Bledsoe or Knight, Warren, and Bender or Chriss, not both of them, and the Miami picks. If we got DJ then I'd really hope that Ball fell to us, he'd be the best player at the top of the draft to add. I'd steer clear of Josh Jackson though if we got DeAndre because we don't need 2 players who can't make FT's at the end of games.

The Clippers have Griffin and Paul as free agents this summer and must be sure that one or both are leaving if they're trying to move Jordan for assets. It makes sense they'd try to trade DJ for picks or youth to retool and rebuild if one leaves but the whole scenario is out of left field, kind of. I've read they're interested in Paul George, thinking they would stand a really good chance at retaining him, they'd be contenders with George, Griffin, Paul, and Jordan and I think they could challenge Golden State as good as anyone.

I wonder if this has any sort of relation to Blake's recent comments about how his favorite basketball cities are Phoenix, Boston, Toronto, and New York. If the Clippers traded Jordan to us then we wouldn't have the money to try and sign Blake, helping LA retain him.

If the Lakers are willing to trade the pick then they don't want Ball.

I wouldn't trade our pick this year but I'd trade our pick next year, with some protection like top 5 for the next 2-3 seasons, and the Miami picks. To trade the pick this year, Ball would have to be off the board and they'd have to take a contract back, Chandler or Knight.

You have to give SOMETHING of value to get a 26 year old 1st Team ALL-NBA player.

Warren, Bender and Miami picks are filler.

For Deandre Jordan? I wouldn't trade one of those things for him. The center position stipulation for all-NBA teams is a joke.
