Yep. That's brutal and Curry and Thompson haven't gotten off yet. Unless the Cavs defense dramatically changes it's going to be a bloodbath, and last year's "they weren't healthy" excuse will not fly this time around.

The defense held Klay and Curry to 20 points combined. 38% shooting and 10 points from the bench are the biggest reasons the Cavs lost.

The Cavs would be losing to a team that went 73-9 in the regular season. It's hard to fault a team losing to them in the Finals.

Yes, the Cavs are healthier this season, but GSW is also a better team than the last go around.

Yet they still got shredded. Neither Kyrie or Love can defend the PnR, and Kyrie is not big enough, or strong enough to defend anybody but Curry and LB. The 2 big guns for the Warriors shot poorly, but that's not gonna happen all series. They missed a lot of shots that were falling against OKC.

Edit: BTW, I'd love to be wrong so we can have an entertaining 7 game series. Yesterday didn't give me much hope for that.

I think the Warriors are the better team but it was just one game. It's hard to reach any conclusions about the Cavs chances just because they lost game 1 on the road.

NBA Finals tidbit: I'm told there's no league discipline expected on the Dellavedova groin hit on Iguodala or the Draymond kick on Irving

I don't think the league will be enforcing any kind if discipline during the finals. There's no way they would do anything to jeapordize the ratings. Draymond could punch Kyrie in the face and they won't do anything...Dellavdova could do the same thing to Igoudala and they won't do anything either.

NBA isn't going to put forth any sort of discipline on the two powerhouse teams from each conference, that much became clear when they didn't suspend Draymond after he repeatedly kicked Adams in the sack with no game off.

I know OKC stole a game in GS but I can't see the Cav's doing the same. Even if they do get one, I think GS will be able to take home court back by winning one in Cleveland. The Cav's don't have the sort of home court advantage with a raucous crowd like OKC or GS. Even if it goes 7 I don't think there is anyway an inexperienced Cav's team, sans Lebron, could win when everything is on the line in Oracle.

J.R. Smith has a soft wrap on his R hand after tearing open the skin on his palm with a floor burn in Game 1. Per Dave McMenamin Twitter page

In the last 2 years they've lost 5 postseason games with Foster as a ref and IIRC 6 with him not as a ref.

he is their kryptonite.

Looks like Draymond found his stroke from three.

how do they not stop the play there with Love laying in the key under the basket?

I don't care if the Warriors have the ball or not player safety dictates stopping the game.

JR Smith just can't handle playing in the finals. It looks like he's lost all motor skills for the second straight year.

The Warriors just run him off the 3 and he can't seem to go by them.

For Cleveland tonight the problem on offense is Love and Irvin arent' delivering so it's all on LeBron. Kyrie scored I think the first 4 points and hasn't scored since, like 22 minutes without a bucket. Love made the one 3 but he's got to do more for them.

Curry and Thompson 20 combined in game 1, 20 combined at the half.

Iggy is such a great passer it's amazing how many good passers the Warriors have, Livingston, Curry, Thompson, Green, Bogut, but IMO Iggy is the best passer they have.

Lebron helped them win 2 games by himself last year and a lot of people predicted he'd be able to do the same this year but I can't see that happening with a healthy Kyrie & Love, mainly Kyrie. I don't see Kyrie being a bystander to allow Lebron to go off like he'd need to. I'm not even sure he could do that again this year because the Warriors are just that much better this year. Not only is Steph a better player this year but Klay and Green have improved a lot compared to last year. Also the entire Warriors team knows their role and buys in to their system completely.

Bledsoe for Kyrie?

Lebron is just a hard player to play with in my opinion. He kind of like a big but he needs to dominate the ball.

Kyrie is a defensive liability and a subpar distributor.

On paper, it looks like a steal for Phoenix, but I really don't think that'd add anymore victories for us. Bledsoe is a much more well-rounder PG, IMO.
