Kemba Walker will enter free agency via a buyout by the Pistons.

Obviously it depends on how serious the the charges end up being, but it really screws the Hornets. They could pull any offer except the QO but that would make it really likely that they lose him for nothing in a year.

Unless the specifics of the assault are REALLY bad, they might take the ugly PR of giving him an extension anyway, but obviously with a team friendly discount.

Either way, I don't see his situation getting resolved in these next several weeks.

I think the Hornets knew already which is why they didn't want to extend him. Already charged with Felony DV.

So the price tag keeps going higher on Jalen Brunson.

So McGee may start for Dallas. I wonder if they make better use of him than the Suns did in the playoffs.

He got exposed he’s good in short spots but he can’t switch anymore so they kept attacking him

He’s not a starter at this point. So if Dallas wants to start him let them

I don't think that's the plan but man. They sure have shored up the FC IMO. The Mavs just took away the one weakness everyone said they had with the last couple moves.

Or maybe it was the Suns defensive strategy that got exposed, not the player.

True our entire defense went to crap I can’t count how many times Booker left his man in the corner and got burned

The Suns couldn't stop the back door cuts even with McGee. Apparently Dallas didn't think he was the problem. Their defense fell a part.

The other four positions may have been the bigger defensive issue.

Luxury tax hits hard even for teams with a $5

Yeah,
Was just reading that gp contract if
Matched would’ve been 3 years 135 million with taxes that’s why they elected to not sign him
for every million it’s multiplied by five for repeater tax crazy

I guess their hope is Moses Moody, who showed real flashes on defense too, will be ready next year to take on some of the Payton role. Getting GP2 back for the finals was a huge factor in them winning so it's a big loss.

It makes sense for him his dad played in Seattle and he played college ball at Oregon State so he's lived there before. Portland has needed defense for years, and he should get more minutes.

love the guy I have to admit I can't wait to see him guarding Steph Curry next year.

This is really interesting with his history of injury. I wonder if the Pelicans protected themselves in the contract for this circumstance.
