Where is this overwhelming amount of hysteria? Sure there are a few posters that have gone overboard. But on the other hand the claims of the degree of negativity have gone way overboard as well.

I thought it seemed overly hysterical around here. I do admit it's died down a bit with the DA benching. But starting an undrafted rookie does tend to set some lower expectations. Or we're just tired.

I agree with 40, and yes, we all the millions of things we could talk about, this has been one piss poor boring, football performancefor a month.

Not so much positive as knowing this team isn't as bad as it seems right now. Except for the QB position, I believe everything thing else is fixable with the right combination of players and schemes.

We have the personnel on defense; we just need to put them into their strongest areas. We need to be able to stop the run and I think everything else will follow. To do that we have to change our scheme as we are leaving the middle wide open all the time. Either the LB's or DE's are not playing their positions properly, or our defensive scheme has a big gaping hole in it and the other teams have identified that hole and are utilizing it unmercifully.

We planned on the defense being our strong point this year and need it to be so. I think it can be, but someone on the defensive team needs to take the lead and get these guys to play hard. I believe losing Bertrand Berry and Hays was harder on this team than losing either Rolle or Dansby. We just don't seem to have the fire anymore.

We need to change some personnel on the O-line and hope that Hall has a phenominal rookie season. We need our WR's to heal up and play up to their potential, tell Beanie to quit whining and keep running the ball even if we fall behind.

Other than that, everything is just fine.

40, your first paragraph basically says, "i don't need people to be positive, just to recognize that the team isn't as bad as it seems right now." well, that's your OPINION. and not everyone agrees with it. it's not a fact. and just because a lot of us don't agree with your OPINION doesn't make us negative, it means we have our own opinion.

for instance, and i'm not saying this to flame you, but i disagree with virtually everything you just typed. but if i went through it point by point and refuted it, you'd flame me calling me negative. we just have differing opinions. and i'm entitled to voice mine just as vociferously as are you.

This team was in the Super Bowl two years ago, is a two time division champion, and it sure as heck looks like all of the accomplishments, accolades and respect this team has fought for over the past two seasons are going to vanish this year. The best team in the division right now is the Rams. The same Rams who have a 6-42 record over the past 3 years. The same Rams that went 1-15 last year that have a rookie QB this year.

This was Arizona's division to take for the third straight year. The only problem is nobody told the players they have to play for it and the coaches have to coach for it. The powers that be botched this offseason and they botched it bad. The defense is atrocious, the Oline is just as bad, our best RB sits on the sidelines, there is no good QB, and holes at damn near every position on the field on both sides of the ball.

Over the past 7 games the Cardinals gave up 241 points averaging 34 ppg. The DC is doing a horrible job and the HC for some unknown reason can't bring in an OC to run this offense. Probably for the same reasons Leinart was pushed out of town and why Beanie is riding pine. Our FA acquistions leave a lot to be desired, the drafts have sucked all of which helped one of the best offenses in the NFL become one of the worst.

Worse of all we all spend time, money and effort into following this team and lately we have witnessed a regression to the Same Ol Cards. This team was on the rise and we all tasted success and saw what lay ahead and saw a bright future. That all vanished thanks to egos and horrible, horrible decisions this offseason and set this team back to the point where it's going to take more than two seasons to rebuild. It is frustrating to no end and I'm sorry, but it's real hard to be all rainbows and puppy dogs with the current situation.

Ouchie I don't recall seeing any of your posts and very few of Cheese's. What makes you think I was commenting on either one of you? Besides, Cheese has a great sense of humor and doesn't get to the point of where we need to have a sucicide watch.

So what do you think is wrong with our defense?
