The bandwagon is essentially empty. I'm guessing they'll be getting about 15 K per game by th end of the season. DBacks ticket sales reps better get ready for some lean times. Get good deals for RJ and Fins and they'll be back in 2-3 years.

I say trade Finley, Bautista and Alomar, tell Gonzo to have surgery and play Terrero, Hairston every day. Call up Jackson and Quentin(sp?) September 1st.

As for Randy, if they can get a monster deal do it. If they can get guys like in the Curt deal, forget it.

This team needs to rebuild for next year and after and the young guys need experience. Watching the guys grow and mature will at least keep me interested.

As bad as it seems now, this organization won't be down for too long.

- They definitely need to shed some worthless relievers.

- Good crop of youngsters who are getting a chance to show if they belong or not.

- Gonna get some $ relief when RJ is shipped.

- Gonna get some good prospects when RJ is shipped.

- Hopefully we can rake SD when we ship Finley over.

- Bautista can fetch a young prospect.

- Hey, it's not going to be roses every year. As long as this team is proactive with their youth and the extra $$ to spend... this team will bounce back quick.

- Remember these tough times. We actually have never had to experience this.

Dont count Pedrique out just yet. He has experience coaching younger players, which can actually benefit this team. If he can get 100% out of all our players, which i dont think Brenly could do, then he may be able to win himself the job permanantly.
Thanks, BOB_Man24. I was getting lonesome in my support of Pedrique.

If so many posters here are looking to hang someone for where we are this season, why are they giving up on Al, who worked his way through the ranks, and preceeded the success of the BabyBacks who started out so well, before getting caught in the maze that prevailed under Bob Brenly.

'Sort of like blaming the players' agent, Joe Garagiola, Jr., for the decisions that only Jerry Colangelo makes.

The D'backs are falling into Suns-itis. One early Cinderella season, then waver from mediocrity to OK and back again.

'See you in 35 years.

I dont think this team is heading in the same direction as the suns. Our season is what it is. Whether it is Al or Bob at the helm, wed be a sinking ship.

Yeah Sexson is injured, and that didnt help anything. Focus on Resigning him.

Yeah our bullpen sucks ass. Start to rebuild it. Make the necessary trades. Trade Fins for SOLID middle relief/setup.

Sign a FA Starter, not Pavano, who has one decent season, a la Dessens.

We need a 2b, SS.

Aquire an OF.

Gonzo have your surgury.

Season Done. Back to the books.

You don't like Scott Hairston or Matt Kata?

Hairston should be sent back to the minors. He is always out of position and his hitting is non existent. Alomar should be playing everyday. As to Kata he hasn't been seen for a long time and, I think, out for the season. Although I have been down on Cintron I will give him the rest of the season to prove himself.

Send Hairston packing until he gets his head back into the game. I wonder why he was batting 3rd last night?

Are you serious? Hairston is going to be a very good player. Let the guy play everyday. Cintron has been playing better since Brenly left and if Pedrigue gives Hairston the vote of confidence he gave Alex, he do better.

As for Alomar, I hope they trade him before the month is over. Who knows, maybe they can get something for him.

I didn't like it when Brenly batted young guys irregularly in the heart of the batting order (3-4-5), and I don't like it now when 'my guy' Pedrique does it either.

Pick a spot, put 'em there, and leave them there, damnit. And reserve the heart of the batting order for someone who's earned it.

Good for the team. Good for the young players.

What bothered me about Hairston batting #3 was the reasoning - 'he's not a guy who likes to see many pitches, he's an aggressive hitter and that's what you want at #3 - a guy who can swing away and drive in runners.'

wait a sec - :bang: - Ok, there, I feel better.

So - if I get this right, let's encourage his greatest weakness as a hitter - he did nicely at leadoff, showed good plate discipline, but what? - we don't NEED that in the #3 spot?! Pedrique, you're starting to sound like an idiot.

Interchangeable Bozos.

2 on, 2 out in the eighth... and now it's tied. Not sure why I'm sitting here muttering "Un-*-believable...Un-*-believable..." because this is SO believable, so predictable.

Wow. It got even worse. Stunning.

Maybe I missed something - was there a problem with Aquino? Because he seemed to be doing JUST fine. Guess Koppy is our DF tonight (Designated *-up). But I may have been distracted - been listening to the Diablos - up 17-9, 9th inning, and their manager just moved almost every single position player over one spot - LF to 3rd, 3rd baseman to 2nd, 2nd to 1st, 1st to LF, DH now catching... That's totally weird. Managers! :stupid:

Koplove really screwed this game up. He has not pitched well at all this year. Maybe send him to Tucson for a week or two to get his confidence back or maybe even put him on the dl.

I wonder how many games this team could of won this year if they had a reliable closer?

Some good news-Gonzalez has been pitching very very well in Tucson and Gosling has done well also of late.

Yes I am serious. The guy hasn't had much baseball sense since he's been here. He is constantly out of position at second base his at bats are just terrible. When he should be taking pitches he is swinging, it doesn't appear that he knows where the strike zone is. His miss of last nights pop up should have been an error. That was just a bush league play and that is where Hairston belongs.... In the bush league.

How many games would they have won.hmmm my guess would maybe 12 more. Perhaps they should look for a closer instead of prospects.

Mike Koplove had shoulder surgery over the winter. It's not surprising that he has been inconsistent this year. In fact, I'm surprised that he was in spring training at all and that they didn't give him more time to recover.

Saw in the paper PedRookie wants to have Elmer go to around 80 pitches today. Why does everyone have to rediscover the wheel? Hmmm, this is a pretty long 2nd inning, up to 39 pitches already. He may end up just pitching his max 4 innings regardless. :p

btw - Capuano won vs. Kerry Wood today. Damn - that one is going to gnaw at me for a long time.
