RJ gets the complete game win as the Diamondbacks won 6-2. I wonder how many more starts RJ has left in an Arizona uniform?
Nod goes to Seattle for hall of fame induction. RJ has 9 1/2 years in Seattle, only 5 1/2 in Arizona.AZZenny said:I assume you didn't mean to say 'the nod goes to Seattle.' - Why go to an almost equally bad team due for massive overhaul and rebuilding?
I also liked Bob Welch plus they also had Roger Craig as a special consultant to the pitching staff. Craig forces his splitfinger on just about every pitcher (and has been known to tear up arms with it) but I think he made some contributions to the club. I believe Welch left under his own accord, with no interest in being a coach anymore. Kniffen was useless.....richardanderson54 said:In 2001 we had Bob Welch as our pitching coach. The Diamondbacks went to the World Series and became World Champions.
Then Welch disappeared and we got Kniffen. Whats with that? Where did he come from?
Now our pitchers lead the league in walks, wild pitches, home runs allowed and sore arms.
Why didn't we keep a proven winner in Welch?
Actually it looks like Pedrique has pretty much run through the whole bullpen - in 9 innings, no less! And I thought Brenly was awful at managing bullpens by running through too many relievers. Serves him right for taking Webby out for no reason in the 6th inning.AZZenny said:YES!!! GAGME FLOPS! His 84-save run was bookended by The Arizona Diamondbacks. And Tracy outlasted that incompetent umpire.
Holy Mother of GOD! VILLAFUERTE!!??? Is Pedrique looking to get lynched?!! What an idiot! Don't we have ANYONE else left?
