Good grief, when Dan Majerle is the voice of maturity, you know you're in trouble.
I'm with you, Eric. When there was a possibility of Majerle coaching the Suns, I felt the greatest danger to moving him directly to NBA head coach was his immature behavior. The same if the D-backs had considered making Mark Grace their manager.

But Dan Majerle has indeed become somewhat mature through his coaching experience at GCU.

Y'know what else helped? He and his business partner setting up a chain of sports bar/restaurants. I had a long talk just two weeks ago with a waitress at his place in Scottsdale.

Although they have made a few bad decisions, for the most part their places are successful. That business experience has added to (I mean, created) maturity in Dan as well.

And, as I've posted, their #9 All Start bacon cheddar burger is as good as any I've ever had. Hmm, it's about time for me to stop in again at their newest place at Desert Ridge.

So he's mature because he own a restaurant that makes a good cheeseburger? Is Donald Trump wise because he owns some nice golf courses?

The first Majerle's restaurant has been around forever, at least 25 years. I don't see any evidence one way or the other about whether restaurant ownership has impacted Majerle's maturity.

Very funny how you disregarded my lead paragraphs . . .

Why did you make the main, and only, point about his involvement in running a business as well?

Dan is not the same grinning, horny kid that he was as an instant millionaire playing in the NBA.

He has a long way to go with Grand Canyon University, but if he continues to mature, he might someday be qualified as a Head Coach in the NBA.

And, hey, don't take cheeseburgers so seriously. :D

I'm surprised he wasn't hired considering our history of hiring unqualified coaches. Since AWA opened we've had Paul Westphal, Frank Johnson, Danny Ainge, Terry Porter, and Lindsey Hunter at the helm. Paul Westphal being handed a championship contending team was a crime.

Scott Skiles belongs on that list if I understand it. Terry Porter though had been the head coach in Milwaukee before we hired him, IIRC.

Your talking about it so much makes me want to try it. I never underestimate the power of a good cheeseburger. :)

It will be interesting to see if NBA GM's feel that, too. Meanwhile, I am not going to lose any sleep over whether Thunder Dan has matured enough.

As a long time Phoenician, I was trying to accentuate the positive for a former Sun who has made the Valley his home in more ways than one.

I have a feeling that if Cotton were still alive, he would do the same.

Kudos for being positive. I was just pointing out how these guys have gotten old.

I'm anxious for the Suns Media Day tomorrow, the trip to Flagstaff and training camp to begin. Having Markieff Morris joining the players who have been working out pre-camp gives it some extra intrigue. I'm hoping for the best.

Kieff says he "wants to be here." We'll see about that.

Just glad he didn't continue admonishing the front office when he had a prime opportunity to do so.

So far, the FO is winning the battle of attrition.

The Suns did not have practice today in order to do team-building work led by a Navy SEAL.
