Addresses the issue by picking one important position up for grabs on each team.

Question regarding SF's QB competition: Which QB, Hill or Smith, is stronger at chucking the rock down the field? With Martz at OC, the position will probably go to the one with the stronger, more accurate long ball.
I'm guessing that's Hill.
Hence the inclusion of the phrase "more accurate" in my statement.Neither Warner, Bulger, or Kitna had a cannon attached to their shoulders. What they had was great accuracy (at least, Warner and Bulger did) and a quick release.

Warner has a quick release?
Just wondering what you've seen from any of our other RBs that leads you to think that.I do like Edge a lot but we need a training camp battle at RB.
Seattle actually has a pretty young team - although there are some aging players at a couple key positions, they should still have some good years ahead
most are either in their prime or entering into it

I think part of it is the positions at which that age exists. The nicks and bumps on Hasselback is concerning over the past couple of years too. Without him that machine to the North just won't be the same.

with that said - there should be some interesting battles - i'm interested to see what happens at RB - who they decide to keep at FB - the TE battle - which of the young WRs will seize the opportunity (if any.......)
can sims retain his job at G upon switching to the right side of the line or will he get beat out by a veteran guy or a young guy like wrotto
defense should be pretty boring for battles - the DT will work on a rotation, but there is still some question on who can emerge as more of the every down player - also with the DE across from kerney - a bunch of young guys who will probably rotate, but who gets the lions share?

I think you misunderstand him. I take it as he wishes there was somebody here that could battle Edge for the starting spot.
In that case...Exactly Shane. It would also likely mean that if we had a battle going for the starting spot we would have some genuine depth there too.
