Don’t really need Ohtani to pitch next year. Pay him and it gives you a great bat and fills the seats at a minimum. If Pfaadt can progress and Henry comes back you have a pretty solid 4 man with quite a few options for the 5/6 spot.

Matter of fact I’d sign Ohtani and the young pitcher form Japan .

btw, I hate Phillies
I don't blame you. I'm a lifelong Phillies fan, but I would undoubtedly hate them if the roles were reversed. Heck, there have been times I've hated them anyway, when they had cheap ownership and stunk for years on end.

I had a pretty good time with the Philly Phans around me tonight. I called them all "the 4 P's" Philly Phans Phrom Phoenix. They like that. I asked them if they were going to the games in Philly and of course not, they said "No, we live here". They said Philly Phans ruled there and there were no DBacks' fans at "their" place. I said, "Of course, not, no one purposely moves from Phoenix to Philly". We all had a great sense of humor and the back and forth was cool. The game was another matter. I picked the wrong game to go to.

I actually grew up in Phoenix and have no historical connection to Philadelphia whatsoever. But there was no major league Phoenix baseball team when I was a kid so I just sort of randomly picked the Phillies because at the time they had a lineup full of all stars (Schmidt, Rose, Luzinski, Carlton, etc.) and a cool logo, and they were one of the most successful franchises at the time.

If the DBacks had existed way back then, I probably would have grown up as a fan of them (as I have the Suns and ASU). So it's just kind of a fluke that I ended up being a lifelong fan of them.

I don't understand people saying he can't pitch next year. Pitching didn't kill us, our offense did. Unless people think Gallen is an issue which I don't.

I am bad luck... I cannot remember the last time I attended a Dbacks win.

I know for sure that the Dbacks are 0-4 in post season games with me in the building.

That game was rough. Atmosphere in the building was awesome, especially until it went to 4-0. But man... the only thing the kept the crowd fired up was the crowd itself.

The Dbacks have had a great run this year - far exceeding expectations. The Phillies are a team built specifically for the playoffs. Their payroll is enormous and after losing in the World Series last year, they are highly motivated to beat the Astros in a rematch. Dbacks still have a chance, but they really needed to sweep at home to have a legitimate shot at making it to the World Series. If ownership doesn't "cheap out" in the offseason, the team has the opportunity to make the playoffs on a regular basis.
