For the heck of it I just called the Cardinals ticket office to clear up some things.

Season tickets are sold out.

Season ticket sellout means no blackouts. And we have already reached that point.

Finally get to enjoy home games in front of my 62" tv. I wonder what that is going to be like.

Wow that's going to be pretty wierd. It should mean that even preseason willl be shown in realtime. No more waiting up till 1100 to watch the tape delay preseason home games. Wierd wild stuff.

Now they just need to start winning so they can keep it sold-out when all the new stadium curiosity wears-off.

Out of curiosity, when is the last time a Cards home game made it on TV. Has it been that long?

Post 9/11 when the blackout was lifted and before that it was the MNF game against the 49ers that ended Young's career.

Success breeds success.

They put in the blackout rule to discourage fans from staying home and watching TV. But in a developing market, this is, in my opinion, shortsighted. A key way to expand and energize a fledgling fan base is by giving the team as much exposure as possible by televising its games.

Now that we have season ticket sell-outs, dollars to donuts there will be an ever increasing backlog of fans wanting to see the games in person (i.e. "when it rains, it pours").

Go figure.

It's the old saying "People want what they can't have"..
