Sorry Shane, I would have to say that McCown had a pretty mediocre performance today. He overthrew a few recievers and also threw it short on multiple third downs, without going downfield. Not a terrible game, but certainly not great.

Definitely promising. Thankfully the only INT he threw was called back. I'm feeling more and more comfortable with Josh at the helm.

It's tough to go down field when no one's open.

You obviously seem to not look at the whole picture. He had a good solid game. Not great mind you but very consistent and made some great decisions.

He needs to make some plays with his legs. That's one advantage of having him back there, and he ran very little. However, he did take care of the ball and kept us in it.

Impressed with the way he played today. At least he wasn't forcing throws to his WR like Jake used to do when he was here.

McCown had a solid game, not anything special but he didn't do anything to make me want to get rid of him.

In fact most of the offense with the exception of the OLine and Diamond played a solid game....unfortunately without a good OLine you can't be an effective offense.

Come on aj if he would have ran more people would have been complaining that he panics and runs to often.

Some people are never happy it seems even when he performs well. He made some nice escapes today with his feet and the play on that errant snap was as heads up as it gets!

I was happy with his play. I just want to see every weapon used. We need it.

Shane is right, I think gameplan was more conservative. He stood in there with a suspect line and still made throws. He has weapons there on the sidelines unfortunatly. If he can stay steady and we get a couple guys 100% and can add the deep threat we will compete even with this line. Josh seems to be able to get out of trouble when the line play breaksdown.

Look, I like McCown, and recognize that he made some good decisions, but he also made some bad decisions and poor throws. This is why he gets a "mediocre". I'll try to see the "whole picture" next game....

Josh looked promising

Mccown had a very solid game, the passes he overthrew were i believe intentional and he did not try to force any like rex grossman did today with chicago. He was very patient, although i would of liked josh to run with it a lil more. Again for my 3rd post of the day, our o-line STANK!

hmm do you expect a perfect game from a guy making their 4th nfl start in order to get a grade of good? of course he made some mistakes. most of his bad throws were due to lack of pass protection!

im glad you'll see the whole picture next time! :D

Ok, we'll agree on this then. For a mid to upper tier quarterback, we would say he had a mediocre game, for an average to lower tier qb, he had a good game.....agreed? :D

And for a QB only on his fourth start I'd say he had a good game.

What Josh did not do was run or turn the ball over. He had just one run for 5 yards. Green had said that he wanted to play safe with Mcown towards the end of pre-season. He was in his 4th start on the road in a hostile stadium in a brand new offesne, and he did not have his biggest weapon in Boldin. Mcown completed 62% of his passes. Many of them were short, but none of them resulted in a turnover. How many points do you think Boldin is worth? I say he is worth at least a TD. Green is doing the right thing in bringing Mcown slowly. I believe we will see the offense open up more as Mcown gets more comfortable, and wide open once Boldin is back in the line up.
