They are still 3 and 3. Yeah they may not win the division, but I'm not counting them out of the playoffs yet. They play a hapless Carolina team next week. Then the 9ers again after their bye. They can easily be 5-3-1. They still have a pretty good shot at it. I think Seattle has a little tougher schedule ahead of them then the Cards do.

The only 2 games of the next 4 I'd be worried about are the Vikings and Atlanta. If the D plays like they did today, and they some how fix the ST issues, I could see the Cards being 7-3-1. Honestly, I can see them being 10-3-1 by the time they play Seattle again.

I'll never quit on this team and this team wont quit on us. Great positive post.

I am NOT optimistic, there is just something funky about this team. There are what, 9 games left? We have a serious up hill battle and we are going to find out what this team is made of. Special teams have cost us 2 games and most likely will continue to be a major factor. I don't like our chances next week against a desperate and well rested Panthers team on the road at 10 am, has the makings of a disaster written all over it. I think we g 8-8 this year, best case scenario is 9-7.

I haven't given up on them but it's a long shot they make the playoffs. I'm more worried about the next few years. It looked like we had 2-3 year window of contention but now it seems we'll a .500 caliber team at best. Especially if Fitz and Palmer hang them up.

To be fair...Palmer hasn't been all that great this year. This offense is predicated on hitting the deep ball...it keeps defenses honest and opens up the entire offense. A lot of people are saying that defenses are playing the Cards different this year with the 2 deep safeties, which may or may not be true, but the deep balls have been there and Carson just isn't hitting them like he was last year. That fact has hurt this offense immensely, and I think that's why Arians always looks befuddled on the sideline...because a lot of throws are being missed that shouldn't be.

I'm enjoying almost every game - going to the playoffs is the goal, then the Superbowl - but really, if we play well every game - I am happy as a fan.

I remember the bad seasons.

realistically, the race is very even. Over the next three games the Cards can go 2-1 or 1-2 and the Seahawks can go 0-3 or 1-2.
The Seahawks if you actually bothered looking at the Stats are the luckiest ,weakest 4-1-1 team in history.
They have no offense and the defense cant keep making up for that. Three games of under 14 pointa in any universe is defined as sucking.

Buffalo will stay in the playoff race because of the nfc west lol

Be honest - we're you worried about the Lambs and the Bills?

If it does it's got bigger brass ones than its HC. Hope I'm wrong, but I just can't see it. If they won maybe, but not winning that game was crushing!!!

:yeahthat: To me this team looks like they have no belief, they are paying lip service to the press saying all the things they are supposed to but I just have the feeling that tie has sapped them. I feel a whupping on the way ....hope im wrong I really do but im not getting the vibe that they want to play

I think if the offense could somehow have a breakout game and the ball bounces their way a couple of times it would have major ramifications to their confidence. Right now I think there heads are in the what could go wrong next for us mindset. A couple of turnovers by the defense to setup short fields would be a boost too. Not sure if Carolina is the team it will happen against but it would be really good for them if it was Carolina.

Didn't they just have that versus the Jets? They also had that breakout game versus the Bucs... didn't do much for them.

Super skeptical they pull it together against a wounded bird who's had an extra week to prepare/get healthy, who also has owned us the last two years in the playoffs. If this week'S game were at home, I'd like our chances much more.

The Cards need to steal 2 or 3 wins to catch back up. My guess the cards can lose no more than 2 games to have a realistic shot at the PO's.

A 10-5-1 team beats out a 10-6 team and a 9-6-1 team beats out a 9-7 team. The only team, imo, that's in firm control in the NFC is Dallas. Everyone else seems a bit shaky.

Russell Wilson is not himself, and that can be a big factor. We have one more game to get the tiebreaker. It's an uphill battle, but we have a shot at this as long as we can get rolling a little bit. I still believe.

To me the Jets and Bucs are not the same as the Panthers. The Panthers are a hump this team needs to get over and they need to do it this Sunday. If they lose this game then I will seriously wonder if they can even get to 500 for the season.

I'm not in the prediction business.

I am in the possibilities business, and we've gotta shot.

Agree.

If we were playing any ordinary bottom feeder like Cleveland, this could easily a trap game based on a possible emotional hangover from Sunday. It's easy to find motivation to beat Carolina. What team was responsible for ending the 2014 and 2015 seasons?

I'm not predicting a win because Carolina has proven in the past to be an excellent rebound team, but there are plenty of reasons for the team to be excited and motivated for Sunday.

Cards will likely need 10 wins to make the playoffs. That means they need to go 7-2 the rest of the way.

I'm not counting this team out, but I don't know if the wheels fall off if the Cards go 1-2 over the next three weeks.

Totally agree. To me, this is a must win game if they have any chance to make the playoffs. Now, if they play lights out on both sides of the ball and some how lose, then its just not their year...

There's no way, after we've absolutely choked mentally so far, that I'll be able to chalk this season up to 'just not our year.' We've shot ourselves in the foot, repeatedly and embarrassingly, early on. That's not bad breaks--that's self-inflicted wounds.

Clearly the offense needs to get a passing game going or the Cards are in big trouble. Both the Pack & Giants have a much easier schedule than the Cards. It looks to me like the Cards have land mines everywhere starting this week. If Palmer's game doesn't prove good enough to win this weekend it will be extremely hard for the Cards to even get a Wild Card spot.

The Seahawks might lose Bennett for 4 weeks, or the rest of the year if he has surgery. Cartilage issues on his knee. Wilson hobbled, Kam injured and that OL? I'm not ready to give up on the season or the division just yet.

The season is often a tale of two halves, much accounting for injures and the simple fact teams have enough tape to see another team's tendencies. In a strange way, we did great last year but ran out of steam and when we made the Super Bowl, we started to click on all cylinders at the right time... I think the defense finally has it figured out :)

I'm pretty much counting us out.

It would take a miracle. And frankly, Palmer at his average like this year isn't good enough. The defense is exceptional which will keep us in games. But our special teams is so god awful that we're not going anywhere.

That's the hot take, which everyone hates. But that's it.
