Not from everything I hear. I'm hearing people around the league are not high on TJ at all. He's a one dimensional mid range scorer who doesn't provide much defense. That in today's NBA doesn't get you much. Beverley has a much more valued skill set and the Clippers might be looking to start over

I like Beverley's defense and 3 point shooting so I'm not saying I don't like him. However, I wouldn't give up this much value for him. He will want a new contract and he will be 30 in July.

Scott Bordow seems to think Warren has value as do I especially off the bench.

I think Beverley has 2-3 years left on his contract and I think it's just a matter of need. Jackson is the future at the 3 and we don't even have an NBA caliber player at PG now.

And you're hearing that from where? Like Mainstreet posted, Scott Bordow says that Warren has more trade value than that. I tend to believe Bordow unless you want to share your sources.

Evan Sidery puts out some ideas as well.

I know the Suns want a PG at #16 but Knox would be hard to turn down at this spot.

Also getting Faried and #14 would give the Suns more ammunition to move up in the draft.
This was a good one also, asked if it's more likely they stay at 16 to pick a player or trade up or out, he thinks trade.

Trade. I don’t even think Shai or Sexton

Even if Shai or Sexton drop to 16 you still need a starting PG. Those toothpicks won’t do anything for the development of the other young guys for a few years.

If the Suns draft a PG they will need a veteran starter in front of them until they are ready. So we agree on this part. However, I would like for the Suns to draft a PG at #16 or #31 as sort of like PGOTF.

I'm not sure who that veteran is right now.

Bordow mentioned Aaron Holiday a few times, he was asked about him once but since he mentioned him in a few tweets I think he's someone the Suns may have interest in if they can't move up.

Here's one of the posts he made referencing Holiday.

xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

Here's where he was asked about the starting 5 for opening night, he thinks Knight, Booker, Jackson, Bender, and Ayton.

xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

Knight does fill the veteran PG role until a rookie is able to take over. I know he's not ideal but maybe he can make it work. We'll see. He'll get the chance to earn the starting job in training camp, I'd be surprised if he wasn't at least afforded that opportunity.

the last thing this team needs is more young players. You draft Ayton and you package all your assets for an all star caliber player. Your paying Booker that's a given your gonna have Ayton on his rookie contract if Jackson develops like we think he will your gonna need to pay him but him and Ayton are still a few years away.

Jackson is still very raw and has a long way to go. We need to focus on him not bring in yet another kid to develop.

Why would you want a team full of rookies even if it is Ayton and Doncic by the time your ready to contend your going to have to pay everyone and Sarver ain't spending big bucks like that. That makes no sense.
Name please. I get it. I would be for packaging for an all-star. But when you have to start talking about real names, well, the discussion becomes much more difficult.

Who are you hearing from? Poster geeks on other boards who just look at box scores and stats?

When it comes to posts like that I think people would be better off saying THEY don't believe someone has a lot of value for X and Y reasons rather than trying to separate themselves from the take some by attributing those views to "sources". On a message board like this, people are going to ask what the sources are. The old "From what I'm hearing" only works if you've proven to have quality sources in the past. In this case, what he's saying is almost the exact opposite of what the Suns beat writer is saying. It's not like the beat writer is spinning a story either, he gave that take today in a Q&A while the team is in a down spot before the draft. There is no benefit in Bordow lying about how TJ's viewed right now.

When it comes to those specific knocks on TJ's game it's not really that surprising either. Yes, he's a one dimensional scorer but he's a damn good one dimensional who is on a cap friendly contract and is still pretty young. He has warts to his game but that's why he might be available, if he didn't then the Suns would keep him. He's still a very efficient scorer who can put up 20 points a game without the team really running many plays for him. You don't give those players away, especially with how the Suns are lacking talent right now, overall.

It was just on the solar panel yesterday and my boy works in sports radio. Dude this is not some secret I understand people in this board tend to overrate players like crazy( just look at all those Eric Bledsoe trade proposals)

His game is outdated today. He's a strict mid range guy. Below average on defense as far as scoring goes he's a scorer on a bad team somebody has to get those shots. Does TJ even start on this team? No don't give me some small ball line up. The answer is no. So he's a 6th man on a bad team? Listen TJ is a nice player but he is not some big prospect

Get over yourself. I do not take this message board that serious. I'm not trying to "separate myself"

TJ is not "damn good" if he was that good we would of won more games. He goes missing a lot. In Bookers short career I can rattle off more than a few big moments and big moments late. Anyone here remember the last time Warren took over in the 4th? Last time Warren hit a big time shot? I'll wait.

Sorry. Not buying what you are shoveling. TJ has some significant value. He is a quality scorer on a good contract. The great thing is that he does not have to have the ball in his hands. High productivity for very low possession time.

By the way. A nice proven player on a good contract has lost of value--even in this draft.

In this particular case, I read something quite similar a week or two ago. I remember disagreeing with the article and being unimpressed by the source but I can't recall exactly who or where it was. Honestly, until this discussion I had thought I read it here.

While I agree with you about Warren's value, he is not making it up. This Warren "analysis" really is floating around somewhere.

Probably a Lillard, CJ, Beal bringing back Dragic or a Kemba Walker. Depends on what you want to spend but all those guys should be on the table

What do you think is significant value? Of course he has value but you tell me what you think you can get for him.

I think Warren has first round value, probably similar to the #10 pick in this draft.

I was thinking somewhere between 12-15 in this draft, depending on the team. Of course, two nickels don't make a dime, so Warren plus #16 might get into the 8-9 range. Breaking the top 7 in this draft is a big barrier though.

If nothing else comes along, I would seriously consider Warren and #16 for Mikal Bridges. Bridges would be an ideal versatile 6th man.

no way does he have value that high in a draft this good.

Probably not. I was trying to put a top value on him. Warren is a player best bundled in a trade along with picks to get something valuable.

I wouldn’t trade a lotto pick for him from another team’s perspective. He’s been in the league 4 years and hasn’t shown any signs of becoming a 3pt threat and isn’t a playmaker or defender for a SF. Maybe he takes that next step with better coaching/teammates. For his contract I think he’s good to have around on this team.

How many players are there in the league that score 20 ppg without needing the ball in their hands to create their looks? Not many. Also discrediting him because he's a midrange guy doesn't make much sense, it would if he wasn't efficient but he is efficient. So he shoots a lot of midrange shots, ok, he's making them, so what's the problem? Would you rather he made layups? They're worth the same amount of points.

You can say his game is dated but that doesn't change the fact that he's still an efficient scorer. I don't get the dated argument that much either, if it's so dated how he is able to score 20 ppg so effortlessly without the ball in his hand? If it were truly dated wouldn't he have trouble producing? People say Len's game is dated because the days of the stiff big Center is over and that's true, you can see it in his lack of production but Warren produces.

He's not a #1 option or an ideal #2 option but he'd be a good #3 or #4 option on a team looking to add some scoring. The Suns need that, without him they would have been blown out of a number of games. So he doesn't make game winning shots, there were probably 3 of those for the Suns all of last season. That's what you get with a team that's tanking. Put the ball in Booker's hand because he's our star, if TJ had a shot at those times then he might have gotten the ball but instead we give the ball to our star, like we should. Don't see the issue.

You can think he's not that valuable and that's fine but that doesn't make it so. There's a reason they extended him. This is a deep draft so it's tough to say what he'd be worth in terms of draft picks but he's definitely worth more than Patrick Beverly.

Let...it...go

I...can't...let...it...go.

I'm all for trading the 16, 31, 59, the Milwaukee pick, the Miami pick and Chriss or Bender for whatever pick it takes to draft Young or Doncic. And if that's not enough, I'd even be willing to include the right to pick swap with ours in the next draft (without protection). I'd also be willing to swap out TJ for Chriss or Bender if we're taking Doncic.[/QUOTE]

__________________________________________________

I'm watching the Warriors game at the moment. If Young is going to be worth this much capital I think he would have to have the upside of Stephen Curry or Steve Nash. Maybe you view him this way, I don't recall. It's hard to get there watching Curry.
