I didn't see it that way at all. In his 2 tourney games he collected 9 assists and 10 turnovers. He also went 1 for 6 from deep. Yes, his 18 free throws make up for a lot of the things he did wrong but he still did a LOT of things wrong.

And even if you call it a great offensive performance (which it wasn't), looking at his DRtg it appears he gave all of it and more back on D.

I was doing some boxscore scouting admittedly but I remember Bama having to win at least two SEC Tourney games to get in. They beat two tourney teams in Auburn and Texas A&M to get in an Sexton was pretty clutch.

Yeah, as I recall he came up big when he needed to in the conference tourney.

Sexton is a physical marvel. He is incredibly fast, agile, and strong. He just needs to be a better passer and shooter.
Sounds like you just described Eric Bledsoe. He can do everything except the 2 things required by PGs...pass and shoot.

Pass.

Package them the last thing this team needs is 3 more rookies.

I'm glad you put it like that, Steve. I'm not interested in another Bledsoe! If he's also short just forget everything I said about him.

He looked noticeably shorter than Trae Young yesterday when they were interviewed together. I'm still super impressed by what he did in that game where he played 3-on-5 though!

I didn't follow villanova at all or watch the end of the tournament, is it fully expected than Divencino will be an absolute knockdown three point shooter at the next level? If shai is gone, which he will be, we should consider Divencino.

As everyone has stated, 3 point snipers on the roster is a must.

We might be able trade down into the 20's to get him.

do you have a link to the interview.

I am mildly interested in Sexton. His speed, body control, and ability to finish are amazing. But if he cannot do better in the other areas, he won't work.

If he could just improve his outside shot he could be the quintessential 6th man. I doubt he will ever become a good all around point guard but his ability to draw fouls could make him an incredible one man weapon.

Here is McDonough on the #16, 31 and the 59 picks. I'm intrigued the Suns might choose to move up in the draft especially for a PG.

The Suns have three other selections, though: No. 16, 31 and 59.

All are available – the Suns GM said it’s not likely the team will enter next season with four rookies.

“We’re open to moving those picks for a player to help us move forward or even to move up in the draft,” he said. “Number one’s probably not (available), unless a scenario falls out of the sky that we’re not anticipating.”

The Suns plan to be aggressive in free agency and find veterans to increase the age of the team, McDonough said. With the No. 1 pick in hand, the Suns have found a way to accelerate #TheTimeline.

I trade anything except Ayton, Jackson & Booker to move up to take Young. That would be a young & cheap Big 4 for the next 3 years (Booker definitely being the most expensive piece starting next year). If PHX brings in Young & Ayton with a couple of veteran pieces they are a playoff team next year IMO.

Who would you trade #1 for? Anyone?

Anthony Davis, or Giannis that's about it.

Can't believe we have an asset like this. I woke up this morning, and as I was getting out of be it hit me again. "The Suns have the #1 pick!" McD must be beside himself. His whole career was riding on that lottery.

Now back the the point of this thread. 16, 31, 59. We are in pursuit of a pg. Here are our options, even if unlikely.

Trade up in the draft: Doncic, Young, Sexton, SGA.
Just draft: SGA, Shake, Shamet, Melton.

Free agency: Chris Paul, IT, Rondo, VanVleet, Lin

Potential trade: Kemba, Shroeder, McCollum or Lillard?, other.

Inside: Elfrid, Ulis.

agree. Young is a true pg. with his passing and additional scoring threat, this team would be the most exciting in the league in a few years!

i think Young is definitely gone at #7, and very possibly Orlando at 6. we should try a deal with them. if they don't play ball, i'd work Dallas at 5, then Chicago at 7.

i don't think Young will available past Orlando at 6. we'd have to deal with them or Dallas at 5

Actually I think there will be some teams down the road kicking themselves if Young makes it past 4.

31 is intriguing. Jalen Brunson might be available at that point, and almost certainly Elie Okobo, who is interesting as an international prospect.

Of course, that's only if we don't trade the 16 and Shai is our pick there.
