If the Suns are looking for a true PG in this draft they'd need a guy who:

- passes first
- can drain the 3
- plays solid D
- can run an offense

Devonte' Graham fulfills all 4 of those.

- Averaged 7.2 assists with a 2.6 A:TO
- Hit 41% from 3 his senior year and has been consistent all 4 years
- Is a solid defender with good instincts (1.6 s/g)
- Ran Kansas's O and was THE leader on the court

Watching film he passes the eye test as well. He's in on every play. He is always looking to make his team mates better. His passes are smart and in the flow of the offense. He's a senior, which is actually what we need when it comes to experience. He's got decent size at 6-2, but has a good 6-6 reach that he uses to his advantage. His draft stock is low because he doesn't stand out. This guy isn't looking to be the Alpha like Trae, he's just looking to be a solid contributor. Which bodes well next to Book, JJ, and Ayton.

He's exactly the type of player we need at the PG spot. Could be had at #31. Depending on the draft process, might sneak into the 1st round.

This is where being a senior hurts him. Graham will probably be a solid backup PG in the NBA. Those assist stats look awfully good.

I hope the Suns do not entertain selling draft picks. It would make me puke. This represented a losing strategy when the Suns did this. I never want to go back there.

Always value draft picks. If nothing else, trade them for future draft picks.

The article about Golden State draft buying second round picks got me started.

See link below:

I could handle selling the 59th pick, but no others. Even that wouldn't be great but it'd be understandable.

I don't want the Suns to restart bad habits. Either trade it or draft a Euro. The Suns selling the Gortat pick stunk of laziness to me.

No one's going to buy the 59th pick. All you have to do is wait two picks, and then go after your player as an undrafted free agent. The likelihood that one of the two teams ahead of you wants the same player you do is vanishingly small.

man... Doc would be a GREAT coach for these young guys. Terrible GM, but he gets the most out of the talent given the majority of the time.

I like this guy too. Just the kind of gritty PG they could use.

I just read that his defensive intensity and quick hands are impressive but he doesn’t have good ball handling skills and has a tendency to throw up ill-advised early shot clock midrange shots. If he can become a Beverly I’d take him second round.
It's very impressive, we could use a tenacious defender or three. ;)

Ball handling is decent and he'd be setting up others by and large. I think you'd be pretty happy with him. He'd find a way into the lineup, imo.

I liked what he did against Trae Young. But I don’t think he’s lead guard material. A nice complimentary piece imo

6-2. Tenacious defender. Shot 39% from 3 on 5 attempts per game. 86% free throw shooter. Not as fast as some other players but manages to get open with a very herky jerky style of play. Very good passer (6.6 ast to 2.6 to). Plays very physical. He would be a nice pick up at 31. This team could use a 6-2 bulldog. Not really worried about his handle given his A/T ratio.

Every year there are those guards that end up being really good players that get missed.

This is an interesting vid to watch. The guy works as hard on D as I have ever seen, and his technique is perfect.

The more I see Carter, the more I like him. He is better than Collin Sexton right now. The only knock is age (22.7), but I don't care about that with the #31 pick. He would really fill a need. 3 and D, distributing pg. Perfect for the Suns.

39% from 3.
7 assists.
3 steals, tenacious defender.

He is just not big.

Watch the highlights. Looks like a Y game. He plays well but the defense is nearly non-existent.

Apparently LiAngelo has said the Suns like how he can play multiple positions.

https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/article211756799.html

I was looking for a list of lesser siblings the Suns have had and found this quote, I blame ColdPickleNacho is the Suns waste their 59th pick on Ball. If they take him with the 31st pick that might be enough to warrant firing McD. I doubt he'd make the pick though. Drafting Liangelo would be all Sarver, seeing LaVar as free advertising for the Suns.

From an ESPN article on LaVar:

On the future of his two younger sons, LiAngelo and LaMelo, the elder Ball said each will only spend one season in college, and he will do whatever he can to reunite them with Lonzo in the NBA.

"No matter what," LaVar said.

It's official. As the Phoenix Suns, franchise of lesser siblings, we're getting Ball and then his brothers. It was always our destiny.
