Wisniewski and/or Mathis are my top 2 guys who I hope for, and somewhat expect.

Been calling for Wis for 2 years. After Oak he signed a 1 year Keim-like "prove it" deal with the Jags and did outstanding.

Im befuddled as to why that dude isn't a Cardinal yet. Seemingly all AZ fans want him, hes familiar with Carson and Veldheer, hes young, and most importantly a very good and affordable Center.

Wis is not a very good football player FYI. His name is bigger than Ted Larsen, but his game is close to the same.

I agree , Wis may follow Winston (played right tackle for us in 2013) he has played for 5 or 6 teams in 5 or 6 seasons .

Wis graded out 2 points behind Alex Mack this year at 72.5

Sendlein was a 48.8

and Larsen was a 37.8

FYI

gotta figure wis must be a jackass or something. he performs decent on sundays but nobody wants to keep him. when in Oakland he was a better guard than center though.....he does offer versatility in that respect which is something our staff tends to covet

Graded out where?

On some stat site that creates metrics which they feell are relevant but don't actually factor in the schemes and assignments teams actually run?

Here is what I will go off of...Wis started several years in Oakland, and they let him go as a young vet and signed someone from a rival. Then Wis gets very little interest on the open market in a offensive needy league. The Jags pay him a low salary, and then let him hit the market again after they have had him playing for them over an entire year. So now, after a season of the worst offensive line play in recent memory, Wis is looking for his third team in three years, and is getting very little interest.

So basically what we were doing this last year. :/

Sorry Shane but that appears where the team is headed. I would be happy if they drafted Dline in the first round. Some one who could generate pressure up the middle which I think was a large part of the problem last year. Very little and infrequent pressure up the middle. Carolina generated great pressure on the inside which caused the pocket to collapse and forced the QB to move outside. If you can't get outside pressure then look to pressure and collapse inside so you force the QB to roll into the outside rushers. The sad part is the Cardinals didn't create pressure inside or outside.

Definitely try to argue that you know better than a renowned company built for the very purpose of assessing players. Just drown in your wrongness with dignity.

Raiders are front runners. Been talking for a couple days. Easy transition to Oakland from SD for him, wont have to move family. Given they have $$$ to burn, I doubt anyone gets into a bid war with them.

As far as I our S situation goes, Im happy with the Branch addition. I am curious about Jefferson. Seeing how everybodys been throwing around $$$ lately, I expect someone to offer TJ more than Keim is prepared for. Be a shame if we lose him.

I don't think he'll do a 500 mile commute each day to the office :)

PFF is pretty much the go-to for nfl metrics

lol well you are more than welcome to go to it. They are metrics. Whether or not they are effective or accurate is another story. This is one of the companies the Patriots looked into, and then discounted because they couldn't see a correlation.

It is the story you choose to believe...

either

A. Wis is a good FA and option at C, but teams are so stupid that not only 30 of them aren't interested in him, but 2 had him and let him go.

OR

B. Wis is a barely average C in this league which is why he will be on his third team in three years if he ever gets contacted and offered a contract, which he hasn't yet.

I think B is more likely even if it contradicts the metrics that PFF CREATED in order to try and numerate the play of offensive linemen.

15 minute flight tops. Altho I just read San Fran is in on him. So that's at least a bridge closer.

More reasonable than say Carolina, whos also very interested.

or:

C: He is a decent center that performs pretty well on game day...but he is a jackass and nobody likes him.

I think the fact that he's looking for a job 2 years in a row is a way better metric than Pfffft has. If he was any good he would not be a free agent.

Could be this as well. Another Richie Incognito. But I think if he was as good as Pffft says he is teams would deal with it.

Your patience is commendable and I for one can't understand how anyone can refute your logic.

So of course we want to sign a jackass whose best attribute is that he is decent? Just looking for clarification.
