Overpaying average players isn't going to help any of that.

The Cardinals went hard after their guy, JPP, and he chose to stay in NY. Everybody else was either vastly overpaid or had other issues. You guys are acting like there are magical pass rushers out there that they could just easily snatch up and they're choosing not to do it.

Yea I'm pretty sure we haven't lost anyone from our 13 win team and infact will be getting some injured guys back and our young guys like Golden, Riddick and Gunter will be that much more experienced and oh yea I heard we might be allowed to draft some new guys too. Yes we need more pass rush help but the sky is not falling. I would rather be in our situation than Denver's's.

You really want to count on a guy like Riddick? Seriously....

not sure why people are counting on Golden getting better either. Our last two OLBs who came out with decent rookie seasons regressed BADLY the next year. It seems we have a tough time identifying difference makers at that position and even the guys we do get, seem to make very little progress from year 1 to 2.

I hope Golden isn't Okafor/Acho part 3, but both of those guys looked like good players their rookie years, who actually registered SACKS as well and fell off cliffs after.

Not to mention golden turned into a crybaby piece of crap in the playoffs and walked away from his coach while he was being talked to...

Thats awesome. It will be fun to watch another double digit win team. Sure beats the past. However we are the same team is exactly right. The same team that had 30 plus put on it by every quality offense we played. The same team that won't make it to the SB with the way it stands now. Pass rush by committee and another year older Dwight Freeney IF we sign him just isn't going to get it done.

Exactamundo. The voice of reason.

Cheese people who think Golden is gonna be anything more than solid to above average are going to be in for a rude awakening IMO. Guys like him rarely turn a defense into greatness.

Nobody on this front 7 right now scares opponents & keeps OCs awake at night. Difference makers make a good defense great & we don't have 1 in the front 7. Calais despite a bad year is still the best pass rushing threat we have.

Wisniewski and/or Mathis are my top 2 guys who I hope for, and somewhat expect.

Been calling for Wis for 2 years. After Oak he signed a 1 year Keim-like "prove it" deal with the Jags and did outstanding.

Im befuddled as to why that dude isn't a Cardinal yet. Seemingly all AZ fans want him, hes familiar with Carson and Veldheer, hes young, and most importantly a very good and affordable Center.

If this is the case why is he again a FA and the Jags letting him go? They have huge cap space why would they let a very good center leave the chemistry is already there?

Veldheer was a good player who hit FA. Doesn't matter why. All that matters is theres a good player available.

A bunch hit the market but they are signed relatively quickly like Veldheer. Especially if they are VERY good They don't sit there waiting for suitors like Wis did last year and appears to be doing now..

Splitting hairs. That's just a backwards mode of thinking.

Freeney was a FA till midway thru the season. 8 sacks in 10 games, pretty good.

Thats a surprise though.. Look at his 16 games with the Chargers most assumed he was done and gave him no shot. That rarely happens in football.

Surprise? To who? Hes a HOF pass rusher who was top 10 in pressures while on the chargers. A pressure means he was able to get to the QB, just couldn't get the sack. I certainly didn't think he was washed up. Still a great player, and Id like him back this year as well.

The reason he was a FA was probably because he was waiting for the right team, just as he said. Which is understandable, he doesn't want to go to some trash team.

Idk say since he wasn't signed till 5 weeks in to 2015 he surprised 32 teams and us.. But I'm sure you expected it all along right? You were the genius?

Don't refer to yourself as 'us'. Me and the rest of the cards fans know football better than some. Anyone knowledgeable of players around the NFL knew Freeney was still a very effective player.

Just as we recognize Wisniewski is a talented young player who would fit our team very. Take our word for it, if youre unaware of who he is.

Why? Always matters.

And, just maybe, Veldheer and CP know a thing or two about Wis that you don't.

Wisniewski = Shipley but wants more money

Jacksonville is throwing money at everyone who ever started an NFL game and they haven't re-signed him. Because he's about as good as Sendlein, i.e. league average on his best days.
