I think it would make a few posters on this board feel better if we cut him and then signed him again for $15 million per year.

I don't think the $$'s are right. We would have around $15 million in cap space.

The $8.7m comes directly from the League. The $20m comes from aggregator web sites.
Its amazing to me that after all of that activity yesterday and amount of $ spent the Giants are still over 50 million in cap space!!! HOLY MOLY !

Looks like meltdown is in full operation at this point. We are missing out on anyone who is anyone. OMG! the team is sunk. Look out last place, here we come!
I don't think we have missed out on anyone who was signed to the contract they got from some other team. Irvin has yet to prove he is a proven pass rusher and the other two got contracts well over what they are worth at least based on their career performances.
Only 16 teams had players that had 10 or more sacks in 2015. After them 4 others had 9 sacks but less than 10. Watts was first with 17.5 and Bennett and Jordan were at 10 each.
Vernon was 27th. -7.5
Hali was 44th.-6.5
Irvin was 64th.-5.5
Jackson was 84th.-5.0
Arizona
Freeney was 23rd.-8
Campbell was 71th.-5
Golden was 94th.-4
None of the players listed above are elite pass rushers who would have made a impact to the pass rushing woes of the Cardinals. I truly think we are going to see pass rush by committee with a lot of rotation to keep guys fresh trying to exploit favorable matchups.

Yea I'm pretty sure we haven't lost anyone from our 13 win team and infact will be getting some injured guys back and our young guys like Golden, Riddick and Gunter will be that much more experienced and oh yea I heard we might be allowed to draft some new guys too. Yes we need more pass rush help but the sky is not falling. I would rather be in our situation than Denver's's.

Overpaying average players isn't going to help any of that.
The Cardinals went hard after their guy, JPP, and he chose to stay in NY. Everybody else was either vastly overpaid or had other issues. You guys are acting like there are magical pass rushers out there that they could just easily snatch up and they're choosing not to do it.

Thats awesome. It will be fun to watch another double digit win team. Sure beats the past. However we are the same team is exactly right. The same team that had 30 plus put on it by every quality offense we played. The same team that won't make it to the SB with the way it stands now. Pass rush by committee and another year older Dwight Freeney IF we sign him just isn't going to get it done.
