It makes me think of Michael Scott at the X-mas party in Season 2...

"Lamp shade on head!!! IT'S HAPPENING!"

Is it bad that I look at the composite radar simply so the storms look stronger and give me more hope of rain? But that storm just south of Ahwatukee does look like a good one. Now they just need to make it to Rural and Guadalupe. Thats not too much to ask right?

Trust me, I'm there with you.

The black dot is where my hosue is, and from the animation, I figure both cells will slide by my house leaving me nothing but dust.

You will have a better shot than me....I am at Rural and Guad, so they got a way to go before they get here. Looking at all the models from this afternoon though I am not suprised we got a little more active of an afternoon. Had a nice pool of about 1.5" precipitable water flow in over night and with how hot it was the convective trigger temp was only 111. I am keepin my fingers crossed though.

It looks like the outflows from the southern storms and the rim storms are gonna collide somewhere over the east valley....hopefully that can get some big storms going.

The radar shows some nice red over my house, but it must not have let loose yet, because it's just scattered rain...big drops, but nothing major.

Thunder is getting louder though.

Thats the problem with using the composite....its looking at the reflectivity between 2K and 40K feet and not the bottom 2K which is what really matters.

If you were a woman, I'd kiss you knowing all that :)

Thunder crazy loud now, it's getting bad over us...rain still steady, but nothing soaking wet yet.

HA! I have been made fun of my whole life for being obsessed with weather....I think growing up in AZ made storms such big events that I wanted to learn about them. I spend alot of my day on the PHXNWS site and the SPC site looking at all the Mesoanalysis Graphics.

During the monsoon season one of the 7 sites they focus on is PHX, so you can get all the data and it has good explinations of all the charts and maps if you dont know all the terms.

I think the reason it looks good today is that we have that normal Monsoon flow out of the southeast finally.

So we have storms moving up towards us from there, and hopefully some from Payson/desert lakes.

Right now, a big storm is developing over Roosevelt Lake area.

Friggin' genius I tell ya

:D
