It didn't rain yesterday in my part of Tempe.

My sister mentioned the other day that she didn't go to the beach last weekend. I asked her why not and she said that it was raining. I had forgotten how the weather in Jersey could make you totally change your weekend plans. :)

I never thought I would actually get excited about the possibility of rain... However, I am getting used to it and prefer this over the feeling of being sick and tired of the rain and drearyness...

I was talking to a guy I work with who just moved here from NY. We were joking about how everyone from AZ should spend April in the northeast and then let us know how much they like rain, lol. :)

I know I will eventually miss rain and look forward to it, but I'm not quite there yet. :)

I can't say that I "miss" the rain... The reality is you never really get rain when you want or in the amounts you want no matter where you live...
I grew up just outside NYC, and always felt that we had too much rain, too much gray...
I lived in Chicago and felt that way even more.
I lived in TX and it seemed to rain on less days than NY & Chicago, whenever it did rain it was all-out, all-day downpours... The kind that ruin your plans for the day or the weekend... Not to mention the humidity...

I was just in San Diego for 8 days and am more convinced than ever that they have the all around best weather in the entire country...
Dry but not too dry. They get more rain than Scottsdale, but much less than NYC & Chicago...
Always a beautiful breeze. It's perfect...

You're probably right - however, this would be the biggest tease yet. The skies are very ominous right now! It's amazing how it can look so much like rain, yet, it doesn't come...

Well, I guess it's possible they hold together for those of you in Cave Creek.

But I hope you know and realize...that if they don't hit where I LIVE or WHERE I AM, then it sucks and I'll be bitter :D

Hey, I'm actually in North Scottsdale! :D

And yes, nobody would ever doubt if you are upset or not should the rain not hit YOUR locale!!!! ;)

I lived in Austin for 2 years, 82, and you are dead on. The weather there changes on a dime and the forecasts are useless. I think the TV meteorologists there just use a magic 8-ball. When there is a thunderstorm there, it doesn't mess around.

My apartment was right next to a parking ramp, and every time during a storm, the car alarms would go nuts after a good blast of thunder. It was so annoying. Sort of like when the Cards were at SDS and they would shoot off the fireworks after the national anthem.

Ugh, MONSOONS WHERE THE FRICK ARE YOU!

I'm telling everyone and this has been documented for the last two years.
I guess if you research this thread you will find it.

I leave town on the 21st for Chicago. There will not be a "major" monsoon storm before that date.

I hate to say it but I am a jinx.

There will not be a major storm before the 21st.

I'm sorry and I wish I knew how to correct this but I don't know how.

I'm not saying that we may not get a Haboob or two before that but the Balls to the Wall storm will not happen before the 21st.

Help me!

You won't see any real rain before the 20th of July. Mark my words.

You're cursed too?
Nope. I just know it won't happen before then. The major storms have been coming later & later in the season. I have just decided not to expect them until August. That way, if we get lucky & get one in late July I'm happy, instead of disappointed if they don't come.

Evidently I am cursed as far as the monsoon goes. This has been proven over and over again
Take it to the bank there will not be a major storm before the 21st.

Then all hell will break loose for six days and subside on the 28th when I return.

Looks like some storms coming in from the east...headed right for SE Phoenix and my house...

Now, if they will just hold together.

I hope you get lucky. I guarantee I'll get nothing in the city.
